Do you know if they keep the flowers or gifts that people buy to put on the inside of the casket or do they?

Take them out?

I was going to send a satin cross pillow that has flowers on it with a ribbon that says my cousins name on it. It is meant to go on the inside of the casket, do they remove things like this before burial or what?

(My 11 year old cousin was killed monday in a car wreck)

Thank you

The funeral home director will obey the wishes of the family in respect to objects left to be interred with the body within reason.

Talk to them and him.
Reply:Excellent choice.

Sorry again for your loss Report It

Reply:It depends on the wishes of the family, and if it's a closed/open casket, of course. My mom was buried with her rosary in her hands, and no one put anything else in the casket.

Sorry to hear about your cousin. S/he's with God now.
Reply:you must just tell them how you want it they won't take it out.

let you heart heal and know that im here praying with you,as i pray for my strength also.i lost a cousin too on tuesday you know
Reply:That all depends on what the family wants. If your aunt and uncle don't want your cousin buried with it, then the funeral home will remove it and someone in the family can take it with them. Otherwise, the flowers may be removed before burial but the pillow won't be.

I'm sorry for your loss.
