i guess the universal day for woman is kinda special day for us women
or what
did u work or u got a day off
i'm working mom and all the ladies here are having fun parties everywhere flowers gifts and honorable celebrations
i want to know if this day has something special for u
and how about men how do they consider this day
Ladies !! how is ur day !! did u get any gifts 'invitations ,celebration?
Cleo, my dear ...
I would say that everyday should be our day as we do so much to keep things running properly, be it at home, schools or any other type of work. Even more for us, working moms who have a triple journey - work, home and husband/children ... but do we get accounted for all that? I know, I don't.
I did work on that day and did not see so many celebrations around (I wished a happy women's day to some other women), so I think people didn't value that day as they should have, specially the men ... But we know our value, don't we?
Reply:unfortunatley i havnt received any gifts or anythin else. but then again im at home wit my daughter whos 4 so she dosent really understand what 2day is yet.

What is the best least expensive loving gift besides chocolates and flowers for my wife on Valentines Day?
It has to be original!!!!!
What is the best least expensive loving gift besides chocolates and flowers for my wife on Valentines Day?
What in the world is the difference between loving a person and being attached to them ?
Love is the sincere wish for others to be happy, and to be free from suffering.
Having realistically recognized others' kindness as well as their faults, love is always focused on the other persons welfare. We have No ulterior motives to fulfill our self-interest, or to fulfill our desires; to love others simply because they exist.
Attachment, on the other hand, exaggerates others' good qualities and makes us crave to be with them. When we're with them, we're happy, but when we're separated from them, we are often miserable. Attachment is linked with expectations of what others should be or do.
Is love as it is usually understood in our society
really love ? or attachment ?
Let us examine this a bit more. Generally we are attracted to people either because they have qualities we value or because they help us in some way. If we observe our own thought processes mindfully, and carefully - we'll notice that we look for specific qualities in others.
Some of these qualities we find attractive, others are those our parents, or society value.
We examine someone's looks, body, education,
financial situation, social status. This is how most of us decide on whether or not the person holds any true value to us.
In addition, we judge people as worthwhile according to how they relate to us. If they help us, praise us, make us feel secure, listen to what we have to say, care for us when we are sick or depressed, we consider them good people, and it is this type of people we are most likely to be more attracted to.
But this is very biased, for we judge them only in terms of how they relate to "us", as if we are the most important person in the world.
After we've judged certain people to be good for us, whenever we see them it appears to us as if goodness is coming from them, but if we are more aware, we recognize that we have projected this goodness onto them.
Desiring to be with the people a lot who make us feel good, we become emotional yo-yo's -
when we're with these people, we're Up, when we're not with these people, we're Down.
Furthermore, we form fixed concepts of what our relationships with those people will be and thus have expectations of them. When they do not live up to our expectations of them, we're very disappointed, or may become angry !
We want them to change so that they will they will match what we think they are. But our projections and expectations come from our own minds, not from the other people.
Our problems arise not because others aren't
who we thought they we're, but because we mistakenly thought they were something they
aren't.
Checklist: "I Love You if __________ "
What we call love is most often attachment.
It is actually a disturbing attitude that overestimates the qualities of another person.
We then cling to tightly to that person, thinking our happiness depends on that person.
"Love, on the other hand, is an open and very calm, relaxed attitude. We want someone to be happy, and free from suffering simply because they exist. While attachment is uncontrolled and much too sentimental, Love is direct and powerful. Attachment obscures our judgment and we become impatient, angry, and impartial, helping only our dear one's and harming those who we don't like. Love builds up others, and clarifies our minds, and we
access a situation by thinking of the greatest good for everyone. Attachment is based on
selfishness, while Love is founded upon cherishing others, even those who do not look very appealing to the eyes. Love looks beyond
all the superficial appearances, and dwells on the fact that they are just like us: they want inner peace, happiness, and want to avoid suffering. If we see unattractive, dirty, ignorant people, we feel repulsed because our selfish minds want to know attractive, intellectual, clean, and talented people. Love, on the other hand, never evaluates others by these superficial standards and looks much deeper into the person. Love recognizes that regardless of the others' appearances, their experience is the same as ours: they seek inner peace, to be happy, to be free from sufferings, and to do their best to avoid problems.
When we're attached, we're not mentally and emotionally free. We overly depend on and cling to another person to fulfill our mental and especially our emotional needs. We fear losing the person, feeling we'd be incomplete without him.
This does not mean that we should suppress our emotional needs or become aloof, alone and totally independent, for that too does not solve the problem. We must simply realize our unrealistic needs, and slowly seek to eliminate them. Some emotional needs may be so strong that they can't be dissolved immediately.
If we try to suppress them or pretend they do not exist, we become anxious, insecure, falling into a depression. In this case, we can do our best to fulfill our needs while simultaneously working gradually to subdue them.
"The core problem is we seek to be loved, rather than to love. We yearn to be understood by others rather than to understand them. In all honesty, our sense of emotional insecurities comes from the selfishness obscuring our own
minds. 'We can develop self-confidence by recognizing our inner potential to become a selfless human being with many, many magnificent qualities, then we'll develop a true and accurate feeling of self-confidence. And
then we'll seek to increase true love, without attachments, to increase compassion, to cultivate patience and understanding, as well as generosity, concentration and wisdom.'
'Under the influence of attachment we're bound by our emotional reactions to others. When they are nice to us, we're happy. When they ignore us, or speak sharply to us, we take it personally and are unhappy. But pacifying attachment doesn't mean we become hard-hearted. Rather, without attachment there will be space in our hearts and minds for genuine Affection and Impartial Love for them.
We'll be actively involved with them.
If we learn to subdue our attachments, we can most definitely have successful friendships and personal relationships with others !! These relationships will be richer because of the freedom and respect - the relationships will be based on. We'll care about the happiness and the misery of all human beings equally, simply because everyone is the same in wanting and needing inner peace, happiness, and not wanting to suffer. However, our lifestyles and interests may be more compatible with those of some people more so than with others, and that is alright. In any case, our relationships will be based on mutual Love, mutual interests, and the wish to help each other in life.

Reply:May I suggest a framed photo, I think they are always "original". Perhaps of a vacation the two of you took or just a happy moment you had together. I am a bit of a shutter-bug so that is often a gift I give, which are received well. You may consider enlarging it and laminating, or just putting it in a frame. I find it is usually the effort you put into the gift that makes it special, not the actual cost. If however she values the actual cost greater than the effort, may I suggest a divorce attorney?
One more observation, if the reason you are looking for "the least expensive loving gift" is that hard times have befallen you, I and likely she too, will understand, if however your are simply a cheap SOB, well, I would suggest the same advice to your wife.
Reply:I think the best thing for you to get her is jewelry. I was thinking about either giving her some flowers or some small small gift of her favorite sports team. I dont want to rush anything and do these things to early, what shuld I do?

I would say flowers, the gift is too soon.
Wait just a little longer on that, and look for reciprocation.

How soon should I send flower or gift to a girl from Russia I met? What flowers might she love?
did you meet her online or in person??? If you met her online then don't send her anything. It's a scam. If you met her in person just send her something you think is beautiful. It's the gesture of sending, not the flowers themselves.
How soon should I send flower or gift to a girl from Russia I met? What flowers might she love?
I just want to tell you that there is no difference where is your girl from! You just have to feel by yourself if you really want to send her flowers or any other gift. If you don't really know what kind of flowers she loves, you just have to know the meaning of them. So I can advice you to read some information here http://www.asap.ru/index.php?alias=info%26amp;...
Reply:Give her a rose make sure it's frozen to remind her of mother Russia and make her stand outside in line before she can get it.
Reply:All the time is the right time for flowers. send her yellow roses they mean friendship that way she does not feel pressured. And she sees the the sentiment is for real.
Reply:do a little research. when is her bday? if your doing the flower thing give her "her" month flower. its little things that stand heads and tails above the standard rose. not that there is anything wrong with a rose mind you, but her month flower is more personal.
Reply:don't be a pussy! pimp that b***h!!! make her feel bad for not getting you any flowers. don't spend money on that b***h, use on an outfit to attract more bitches!!!!
Reply:Just because she is from Russia makes no difference in this when it doubt roses

Sending flowers in the Phils ?
I have a friend who lives in Quezon City and I want to surprise her with flowers on her birthday in September. I noticed on the Manila Times website that there are different companies like "Mahal Gift" and "Gifts2Pinas" that deliver flowers and gifts to places around Metro Manila. Can I trust sending flowers by one of these companies ?? Just because I live in Canada, but I want her to have a nice surprise on her B-Day. What do you think ??? I don't to use this company if there products are in bad condition or stuff like that.
Sending flowers in the Phils ?
My overseas friends use PinasGift.com all the time, you can definitely trust them. I've received quite a number of gifts purchased from their website. Here is their website:
Reply:Consider a mixed bouquet of daisies, lilies and wild flowers. This mixed bouquet is appropriate no matter what the occasion. Perfect for the "New" relationships. It simply lets that special someone know that you are thinking of them. A local florist can deliver the flowers to your recipient with a message card.
Someone need a pick me up-
A basket of Flowers or a flowering plant with a teddy bear is just the right touch to brighten someone's day! Perfect for someone who is having a bad day or doesn't feel well.
True Love-
Roses can represent many things. Red Roses have been long known for their association with LOVE. But don't feel confined to just red! If you know she likes pink, then send her 1 dozen pink roses. For special occasions, such as Birthday, Valentine's Day or Anniversary, make more of an impression by sending a spectacular 2 or 3 dozen roses in a vase. To be unique, send 2 or 3 dozen of a more rare flower, like calla lilies:) WOW! Add balloons and a bear for a real surprise!
When in doubt?
Ask the florist. They are the experts! Tell the florist what kind of personality your recipient has. Maybe even what colors they like. With your sentiment in mind, they can recommend the perfect arrangement. Read more tips : http://online-articles.org/relationships...
Include a Message?
Always include a message with your flowers. Even if it is simply, "From, John" or "Love, Phil ". It can be very frustrating to some people to receive a gift without knowledge of who sent it. Simple sentiments like?.. "Just wanted you to know I am thinking about you today" or " Thank you for being you" are appropriate. Of course, If the gift is being sent for a particular occasion, mention that. For example, "Happy Birthday to a Beautiful Woman- With Love, John ". Perfect! Simple and Sweet!
Add something special-
Florists often have many things that can be added to your floral arrangement to make it extra special. Plush Animals, Mylar and Latex Balloons and Chocolates are just a few of the items that can compliment your floral gift!
Timing-
Remember to order early before busy holidays, especially Valentine's Day! Most florists suggest ordering a week before if possible. This will ensure a better selection of flowers and timely delivery to your recipient.
Finally,
Don't order your flowers through a call center! These companies charge you a fee to process your order. Even if they tell you that they don't charge you fees, they will absorb a portion of your money, and then pass the order on to a local florist at a decreased value! Make sure you order your floral gift directly from a real local florist in the town you are sending them to. No Middleman, No Extra Fees! This will ensure that you get the best value %26amp; service! Your floral gift will be beautifully designed for presentation. Very impressive! Read more tips : http://online-articles.org/relationships...
Reply:try filgifts.com and myAyala.com. give them a call if your indoubt..
Reply:I suggest that you check with your local florist in Canada. Usually florists have some international organization, I forgot the name, in sending flowers worldwide...instead of going through those cheap advertised flower shops....Price may be steep but the quality of the flowers and the arrangement are good..not to mention the delivery. There are several flower shops here in the Philippines that are member of that florist organization like Beecheaves, Holland Tulips, Rustan's Flower Shop, etc. Hope it helps and good luck...

Reply:There is always risk but i suggest that you ask for photos of actual flowers delivered and a picture of your friend accepting the flower. I got one friend who used to deliver flowers in the Philippines being order from various countries and she does take pictures to prove the delivery.

What to do about a family member who never buys gifts or invites you over?
I have an Aunt who never has bought a gift for anyone in my family. My Mom treats her to dinner, cooks for her, etc.. not once has she come over with flowers or anything as a way to say thanks.. My Mom invites her over , cooks for her, spends over $100... Also we have treated her out to dinner...
She is a wealthy woman btw..
One time she invited us to her house, there was no food in her fridge or house and she said that she usually goes to her friends house to eat, we would up treating her at her own house..
Well I had a talk with my Mom and said how this all sickens me,, we havent invited her over anymore and shes not talking to us anymore...
I dont understand why she treats us like this?
What to do about a family member who never buys gifts or invites you over?
You cant do anything about it.
You may talk to your Aunt and tell her you would like to spend more time with her. Or are you wanting her to buy you things? I am a bit confused with you there.
Reply:you will have these kin folks, friends whatever, doing this throughout your life. either get use to it or do like me when you are old enough and stop visiting them. i don't have time for selfish people.
Reply:Family can be pretty jacked up sometimes (or in your case all the time), but we put up with the behavior, because we love them. As much as we may dislike a family member their still is that familial bond.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't be mad or sickened, but maybe it's time to tell her what's up. She is family right? Talk it out with her. Family interventions can be the way.
Reply:be civil to her, but don't trust her for anything. this is a good example to show that blood isn't thicker than water.
Reply:Do you wonder how she stays wealthy? Heh. In my experience, when a family member acts like that I just leave them be. Dont confront her,if you see her dont be nasty, just leave her alone. Eventually you will hear from her, or you wont, but I dont think it would be a very big loss, if shes just a mooch. Let her come to you to talk about it. Good luck!
Reply:She is not directing any anger toward you. She doesn't THINK of you. She is egocentric ( a taker). Simply ask yourself, " Do I want a relationship with her under these conditions?" If it continues to gall you, then you could always pop in for visits other than dinner time. And not include her during festive occasions.
My Mom was similar. It was a 8:1 ratio with dinners. We just had a quiet disrespect for her.
Reply:no,dont do that..if you give something or help someone dont expect in return, just help them with all your heart..its better to give than to recieve..if ever your family had a problem you can ask him to help but if she refuse, dont tell them all of your good deeds to him but instead of not mind him.God is wathcing those good people, maybe the good karma is not over yet just wait it patiently.
Reply:I say you put a flaming bag of dog poo on her porch. That'll teach her.

What are you gettingsending your mommy for mothers day?
How many of you are sending flowers/gifts/cards to your grandmothers? Any good websites you recommend for gifts that get delivered?
What are you gettingsending your mommy for mothers day?
I recommend something with a little more meaning! Try a personalized calendar filled with pictures of you (and siblings?) and your mom from Costco.com if you are a member (they are the cheapest and powered by snapfish).
They have other options as well that you can put pictures into/onto... mouse pads, mugs, and so much more. I know from experience, its memories and meaning that I appreciate most!

What potted flowers would make a good valentine's gift?
i want to give flowers on valentine's day, but want to give something that will last more than a couple of days. can anyone suggest some good potted flowers/plants that i could send as an alternative?
What potted flowers would make a good valentine's gift?
You could always go with Gerber daisies, lilies, or tulips.
Oh, I have an idea, I remember one year (a long time ago), my husband gave me a Rose Bush... he said that he was giving me something that would give me more than a dozen roses. I loved that!
Reply:I like the rose bush suggestion, but what about potted dwarf oriental or asiatic liliums, they are gorgeous and as far as I know, perennial so they'll come back every year
Reply:Catus with flowering red blooms
Reply:I would recommend tulips. they are beautiful and inexpensive.

Is it appropriate to send a thank you card & maybe a small gift like flowers/chocolates after a job interview?
Send a Thank you Card.
Remember to thank them for their time.
And nothing more.
Send the card good old fashion Snail Mail.
Skip the gift. Don't step over the line into bribery.
Too often our society has gotten to involved in whatever to remember the small things that go along ways like saying thank you and taking the time to mail a card. Might just impress the folks enough to land the job, but do it with sincerity and not the hidden motive.
Is it appropriate to send a thank you card %26amp; maybe a small gift like flowers/chocolates after a job interview?
No, that could be seen as a bribe.
A letter saying thank you for seeing you and how much you were impressed by the company, how you are sure you would be a valuable member of staff, highlighting any points you missed might be appropriate, but I wouldn't it might be seen as crawling.
Reply:Thank you note/card should be enough.
Reply:No gifts ever.
Always a thank you note to all who interviewed you.
Reply:you mean to send it to the company you just interviewed with? I dont think that it is appropriate... even though you probably have good intentions, they might think that you are kissing *** to get the job.
Reply:Just a note on plain white paper, thanking them for their time and expressing interest in the position. And send it the same day if at all possible. Also get the person's name who interviewed you so you can address them in the note ... Dear Miss Miller, etc.
Good luck on your job search!
Reply:You can always follow up with a letter saying "Thank you for your time.." but do not send a gift. That looks too much like a bribe.
Reply:Just stick to the thank you note. Send it the day that you have the interview (after you are done). It will give you a one-up on all of the other applicants who didn't send one.
Don't send any gifts. That's just sucking up. If someone sent me chocolates, I'd eat them and not hire the person who sent them. Flowers are even worse. Flowers are for people in love or funerals.

Wedding flowers?
I had to laugh about the $400,000 law suit that the couple wanted for their wedding glowers not being the correct color.
I'm guessing they were not into the wedding. Who cares about the color of the flowers. Eyes should be on the couple. I think they should of made the flowers gifts, after all spending that much on them is sorta odd to me.
They should of just had an outdoors wedding with natural colors.
There is a reason we all don't get what we want. I think in their case its to learn about indulgence.
What do you think?
Wedding flowers?
I did not spend anywhere near that amount for my wedding flowers but I wanted the flowers I paid for. True the focus of the wedding is the bride and groom and the love story.
But there is such a thing as legally binding contracts for goods and services.
Reply:While I do agree it is stupid and ridiculous, I am not surprised. It is the American way. Sue and sue some more. Even American lawyers have malpractice lawsuits.;)
BUT, to be fair, think about it this way.
You are a couple who has paid for a specific service. You may have paid thousands of dollars. If it is true that the color of the flowers was completely different than what was ordered, then it is a breech of contract, no matter what. At the very least, the bride should have been told her wants couldn't be met.
Now, I would not sue over flower colors, but I am not surprised to hear this. I can see this happening in this day and age where couples blow $20,000 on centrepieces.
People need to get out of their bubble and see the REAL problems this world has.
Reply:I totally agree with the first poster....
While the coupel did have a contract and were wronged in the sense of that contract it does highlight a bigger issue.
Specifically that in today's world people seem obsessed about the flashyness of weddings. How many wedding's you've been to more than 3 or 4 months ago can you remember the centerpieces for?.....how about the specifics of the night like decorations?....What the invitations looked like?
Many of these things cost the couple major moola, and hours were spent agonizing over millions of choices, but few are remembered.
It's more important not to lose site of the fact that the day is about your life together with another person and not who has the biggest centerpiece :).
Reply:right on.

Ladies what is the most UNIQUE Valentines day gift? NO FLOWERS?
Came home after a long day at work where my husband sent me a dozen roses, to a professional masseuse waiting to give me a 45 minute massage, the house was spotless from a maide service, and my husband was cooking up a nice meal for me in the kitchen. He even did the dishes after. : )

Ladies, what's the deal with flowers? Why do most of you go absolutely gaga over receiving cut flowers?
I know that most of you think it's a big deal and even try to give them to guys as gifts. If someone gave me cut flowers (as a gift) I would feel very uncomfortable. Can someone please explain this "thing" women have for flowers? And please throw in an explanation of why you think some (if not most) men don't feel the same way.
Ladies, what's the deal with flowers? Why do most of you go absolutely gaga over receiving cut flowers?
I don't go gaga over flowers. They are too expensive, and they die, and what do you do with them? Put them in a vase? ... okay. And watch them. They smell nice, though.
In the first year of high school my girlfriends came to school with lots of presents and flowers and balloons on my birthday - I was surprised and didn't know what to do with it all. So I got one of my teachers to put the flowers in a vase. And my friends felt quite offended! I hadn't realised this, but they expected me to carry them around all day as "proof" of my birthday or something. And all I was thinking about was that the flowers would die quicker, and it was annoying carrying everything around with me everywhere...
I would rather (usually) a guy got me one rose, or picked a flower from a neighbours garden or something - because that is inexpensive - and I think one flower is as beautiful as many, and smells as nice - and its the gesture (not the price) that counts. I love simplicity.
What do guys like as presents? Chocolate? It's always hard to buy for guys.
Reply:I send flowers to men all the time. They love it. I'm sure everyone's feelings about flowers is a matter of taste and varies. But, for me, I am in love with flowers. I garden and watercolor plants and flowers. Their delicate perfumes and giddy colors and velvety-soft petals are most pleasing to me. A bouquet of flowers from a man actually turns me on. Everytime I glance at the bouquet, I think of him . . . and, oddly, I think about how delicious his neck smells like.

They smell nice.
Society has conditioned us to believe that when a man gives a woman fresh flowers he cares about her - and it IS nice to know someone cares. If coming from someone who does not ordinarily express deep emotion, receiving cut flowers can elicit the "gaga" response as you noted.
But mostly, they are pretty and they smell nice.
Men don't get gaga over flowers, but give him an electronic gadget and see his face light up!
Reply:Women like flowers because it is usually expensive, and they like when men have to spend lots of money on them.
Reply:I used to think cut flowers were a ridiculous gift. I thought it was a sentimental waste. Now, I love them as much as any woman does. I think it is a combination of things. The wonderful smell, the thoughtfulness of the gesture, they make any room look brighter and looking at somesthing so beautiful makes you feel that way inside. It's like owning a natural piece of beauty.

men, they aren't soft and delicate and beautiful and sweet. so they dont like flowers like we do.
but u dont have to spend a lot of money on them either. i love when my hubby picks some from our garden and gives them too me.

Reply:Cut flowers are absolutely OUT. Unless they are organically grown they are chock- FULL of dangerous levels of highly-toxic pesticides. Traces of this toxic chemical soup is what the recipient of cut flowers really gets. It's on their hands, on their clothes, and in the surrounding airspace. These flowers are grown in developing countries; the peasants who process the plant material are regularly exposed to pesticides, fungicides, etc., that are not permitted for use in the USA or Canada. Dow Chemical (for instance) manufactures DDT - and exports it for use in developing countries. In these countries, human exposure to pesticides/fungicides is not regulated. The peasant people who do this work are poor, and haven't much in the way of alternatives. Very many are women. People working in these flower-factories often become ill. There are high rates of miscarriage and birth defects reported. Nobody knows how health will be affected in the long-term. Flowers can't be eaten - the land can be better utilised to grow food.
Cut flowers are a waste of money and a waste of resources all round.
They make people sick.
Don't buy them.

I have $10 and i need a mothers day gift i want to get her flowers but don't have that much money i am only 11 years old any suggesttions? PLEASE I NEED HELP.
I have $10 and i need a mothers day gift i want to get her flowers but don't have that much money i am only11
Right now, at Cracker Barrel, (Get your dad to drive you there), they have little purple bears with pink tummies, holding bouquets and cards, and on their pink tum-tums it says I Love You, Mom, or Happy Mother's Day. And they only cost $5.99($6.00)! Then, you can use the other three dollars to get either of these things:
-A nice card (but it's much sweeter to make your own card)
-A perfume or lotion set of three at the Dollar Store.
-A bouquet of flowers at the Dollar Store.
-A five-dollar gift-card
-A bag of candy at the Dollar Store.
Or, you can do things like obey her every command without complaining, because she does all the work every day. Mom's love those sorts of gifts!
Hope you and your Mom have a great Mothers day! And, hope I gave you some ideas, too!
Reply:may i suggest that you make her a fantastic card? im a mom and i LOVE it when my daughter takes the time to make me something instead of having to go out and buy it.
that way you have 10 dollars with which to buy her something that doesnt have to be flowers. why not go to the flower shop, explain that you only have 10 dollars and see what kind of potted plant they can give you? a flowering potted plant will last much longer than cut flowers and it will be a reminder of your thoughfulness throughout the year instead of having to chuck flowers in a week (IF they last that long) my favourite gift from my daughter is still in our house. she went to the dollar store with dad, bought a pretty painted pot and transplanted a tiny flowering shrub into it. (my husband says it cost her about 6 bucks in total and she had enough left over to buy herself a candy HAHA)
good luck!
ps if your mom gardens or something why not get her a gardening utensil instead?
just remember it DOESNT have to be flowers!
Reply:Awww.. I have a 9 year old daughter and she always makes me a card that is usually very special. I wouldn't care if she spent money on me..truly I wish she wouldn't spend money on me. If you really want to spend your money I suggest buying a pot and some dirt and flower seeds. Decorate the pot yourself, maybe a handprint and some decorations.."I love you mom" written on it. Then plant the seeds and in your card you make write something along the lines that your love for her grows as the seeds will grow into beautiful flowers..or something like you are a great mom...your love has made me grow like the flowers...ect... I hope you get the idea. Whatever you do I am sure she will love it!
Reply:If you have your heart set on flowers go to the store and get some colored foam cut out flowers and glue pictures in the center of them. tape the flowers on to pens or straws. Also get a super cheap flower pot and paint it or decorate it and fill it with rice, sand, gravel. so on then place the flowers in it. She'll love anything hust because it's from you.
Reply:Well, you don't have to get your mum gifts as an appreciation to to her.Your mum is already happy when you remember her on Mother's Day. You can make her card! It's more personal because it's from you. Or you can get her a slice of cake which won't cost much and top it up with a candle. Remember it's the heart that counts.
Reply:With the money you have I would buy a nice card. Then I would look through any albums you have or have access to. Try to find a photo of yourself with your mother or one when you were a very little girl and attach it to your card. Underneath write how you really feel about your mother. Something like this would be worth as much as a pile of gold to your mom!

I am 15 years old now. Not intending to buy anything for my mother though. Just family problems, you know, past hurts. Anyway, why celebrate Mothers Day when they do not celebrate Youth Day?
Well, a few suggestions for you. You can make her breakfast. Do the house chores for the day. Make her a card. Buy chocolates. Or just give her the $10. Haha. Just kidding.
Anyway, what are you doing here when you are only 11? Relax. Just teasing.
Good luck!

What can I make out of dried flowers from my mothers funeral arrangments that would make nice memory gift ?
Make a shadow box, or buy one and place the dired flowers inside, so you can display it on the wall and you can always see them.
Reply:You could get a few more of her personal things that meant so much to her and remind you of her and make a very decorative shadow box. This can be done fairly easily and looks very nice. This also will alow people to view these memories in a very decorative way.
Reply:you can get a picture frame with a wide mat, and glue the flowers to the mat and put a pic of her in it, or a pic of the two of you in it.
You can make a wreath as well.
Reply:I would look at Victorian keepsakes at the library on online like fans, silk posies and wall decorations that can be framed. I am sorry about your loss.
You may not have time for all this with all the visiting relatives and choose a floral paper memorial at your church and give the flower arrangements to a nursing home or hospital like we did.
Reply:you can put together her favorite flowers or the ones you like the most that go together well. [or you can choose one by itself]. get a beautiful ribbon one that goes with the flowers you chose and one that reminds you of her and tie it around the flower[s] in a small bow. find a glass box that would be able to fit the arrangement inside. or you could press the flowers and tie them together and frame them in a nice frame. i did this after my mom's funeral.hope this helps
Reply:you can have a rose bronzed then place it over a phote album with the pressed flowers and pictures you love. I am sorry for your loss. It hurts like hell and I hate that our loved ones have to go.
Reply:Have you thought of putting them onto paper and making a scrapbook? Use them on the front page and then put pictures and other memorabilia about your mom inside.
Reply:Neatly attach one of the dried dead leafs to nice card and write something to the extent.."Just like this flower, we will all wither away.."
"Thanks for attending!"
Make sure to thank everyone and maybe do a fondue party and make a note about that too on the same card.

its a cute idea to sit on shelves..bookcases..or jsut sit on atable..someplace where youd see it alot.. and you'll always have a memory of your mother..
heres ahug sweetie..and im sorry to hear of your loss..GOD bless
Reply:put it in a vase and with a purple ribon around it. and buy perfume and put the whole bottle in the vase in the vase
Reply:You can make a 1.5-2" tall box (similar to a lid of a shoe box) out of wood. Find things that remind you of your mother and fill the box. Place the flower petals around these items and pour liquid epoxy over them. Allow to dry and you will be able to display these items forever.

Eco-friendly gifts for a grave site?
I like to leave my mom, who passed away last year, little gifts at her head stone. Since I leave things for Christmas, her birthday, and mothers day I realized how much stuff could accumulate. I have brought balloons in the past and flowers(commercial) but I don't think these things are very eco-friendly. Not to mention greeting cards I leave as well. I live in the north so I can't bring fresh flowers very often I don't think commercial are the best or truly genuine. I also thought about planting something but I really like to bring something new at these different holidays. Any unique eco-friendly suggestions would be great!!!!
Eco-friendly gifts for a grave site?
We also leave gifts at Dad's grave site several times a year; most of which are free of cost and eco friendly.
I really enjoy making things of paper mache which is a very eco friendly container ~ from paper mache, you can create shamrocks, vases, hearts, and all sorts of things suitable for graveside decorations. One good rain, and the container begins to compost :).
I also dry flowers, such as yarrow, lavender, and baby's breathe to use when fresh flowers aren't available from my yard.
During Christmas, we make wreaths from yew boughs, pine cones, and cinnamon sticks. For Halloween, I make a wreath of dried grape vines decorated with miniature pumpkins.
Have you ever woven with grass? I use a variety of grass we call "Mormon grass" to weave small baskets and make reed dolls ~ not unlike cornhusk dolls.
Even cockleburrs can be stuck together to create a cute little basket that can be filled with sprigs of evergreens and berries.
If you don't have a large yard with an assortment of plant life, you can certainly take a stroll through a public park and pick up twigs, acorns, dried leaves and other "found" items. Once you put your mind to it, you'll discover that all sorts of wonderful things can be crafted from nature.
Reply:For my fathers, I mulched it to keep the weeds off and planted flowers. It turn out really nice.
Reply:I am sorry to hear of your loss. You are a sweet son to leave little gifts!
We leave figurines...for example, around Easter...we put glass bunnies....Christmas, always a Poinsetta or a small Christmas tree. There are always some type of figurine or little statue that goes with the season/holiday...
We do not spend tons on the different momentos because people seem to think they can just take whatever they want from the cemetary...how sad, right?
Reply:How nice, I'm sure that your mother smiles at you all the while! I saw a grave in my local cemetery this summer and someone had erected a small very arbor and planted a clematis. It will grow every year and provide beautiful blooms for years and years to come. I'm not sure if cemeteries have rules about these things, though, so I'd check first.

What are some great non-traditional gifts for kids?
I have a ton of nieces and nephews, ranging from age 6 months to 6 years old, to shop for this year. What are some cool non-toy gifts to get? The problem is that we all have sooo many toys. I was thinking maybe like a grow your own flower kit, or flower press, or ... I have no idea.
Any ideas welcome.

Reply:I always liked when my kids got special books - hardback in such subjects at nature or the Presidents. It was nice to have the giver write a little note inside the book.
I still have many of those special books and my kids are teens now.
The books were special because they normally only got paperback books and they came in handy when doing research. The kids also loved looking through them, especially animal books.

Anyone know any good gifts to buy for a girl...just because...other than flowers?
Any one have any good suggestions...trying to keep it to about 40 - 50 bucks.

They always think stuffed animals are cute. There are those pajama gram commercials (but I don't know how much those cost). Chocolates can be tricky. If she always thinks she has weight issues, or is dieting, stay away. Clothes are tough too. If you get those sizes wrong, either too big ("you think I'm fat") or too small ("you want me to be thinner") you are in the dog house. If you're strapped for cash, sing to her. You don't have to do a good job or have a golden voice, as long as you put some effort into it. She'll think it's sweet. If singing's not your thing, cook for her. For 40 - 50 bucks you can make a really spectacular, candle lit meal. If you don't know how to cook, call mom or watch a cooking show. Make sure you know what she does and doesn't eat though. Romance can sometimes be the only light in the darkness of confusion. Can't go wrong.
Reply:how old is she, and what is she like? what about some nice perfume, if you like the smell its probably good and you can get a bottle for like 50 bucks... but then again not all girls wear perfume.

The answerers are correct to a point.
Hyacinths are bulbs but you'll still have to provide the right conditions for them to bloom again.

hyacinth's are bulbs. they only bloom once a year for about a month.
after that they are done till next year.
put teh bulb about 3 inches underground. it will be back next March.
Reply:They also do better on the north side of your house. You should plant it outside because they grow to be a very beautiful fairly large bush with many blooms.

Whats a great gift for a women thats not really into flowers, jewelery and is more into practical gifts?
Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

A prepaid debit card is the worlds best gift. It allow the user to shop anywhere visa is accepted and isn't as thoughtless as cash. If she's a mother, the debit card should accompany an offer to baby sit while she uses it.

What are the top but affordable gifts for a girlfriend?
Hello my girlfriends birthday is coming and im thinking of a good gift to give her on her birthday. What I have in mind is to give her flowers and chocolates. She has asthma so i cant give her fury stuff toys. Are there any other suggestions you can give me?
What are the top but affordable gifts for a girlfriend?
flowers, chocolates, a teddy bear (any girl would like that), a ring (doesnt have to be alot of money..its the thought that counts), and a big hug and smile to wrap it all up! :)
Reply:A necklace is always a good idea. There are a wide variety of styles as well as prices .Be careful with flowers since she has asthma. Take her to a nice dinner or a romantic movie.A photo album or memory book filled with special moments you've shared or will share would be nice too.If you've just started dating and don't have pics it would still be nice and you could start with getting your photo taken with her for her birthday and be sure to include mutual friends. Or you could buy here a favorite cd or dvd. Most girls are easily pleased it's knowing you remembered her special day that counts .
Reply:A gift certificate to a clothing store she likes (Macy's, Sears, Victoria's Secret, a Mall Gift certificate, etc...) -A heartfelt poem or little leter of appreciation--some flowers and a cheap vase will she save forever. A $20 silver heart neckalce with both of your initials in it or a small picture of you two in it. Take her out to eat that night too or to a movie or somthing she likes. Good luck dude

My mom wants to take up sketching, in particularly to sketch flowers. What would be a good Christmas gift idea
besides like the basic utensils and paper pad.
My mom wants to take up sketching, in particularly to sketch flowers. What would be a good Christmas gift idea
maybe a easil. But you need to get her this special kind of color pencil called Prisma Color. It uses an oil base and you can blend it like paint and it is way better then regular pencils. Charcoal is nice... The nice thing about sketching though is that it does not require much to do it. Maybe if she gets good a sketching she can dive into some other medias like painting!
Reply:how about a how to book or something on sketching
Reply:Tell her you'll sit very patiently for an hour or two while she sketches you.
Reply:Go to a local craft store (big one like Michael's or AC Moore) and go to the artists section, find someone. Tell them you want to get an instruction book for sketching flowers and some sketch pad.
Good luck!
Reply:Just make her a Gift basket full of stuff from an art supply store.
Maybe a nice Easel.
Reply:If you look in book stores or artists' supply stores, you will find many books related to drawing and sketching, including those that focus on particular areas like nature, still life, flowers, (and animals, figure, landscapes, buildings, cars, etc.) Some of these have lessons that take the reader step by step through a few drawing while others have dozens of drawings to copy and work with (almost like a kids coloring book.) Get one that focuses on flowers that looks good to you in choices. Get a sketch pad the same size with a stiff back, get several pencils in various grades (or look in the front of the book and see what it suggests is needed) and get a nice cloth bag the right size to hold them all neatly with a little space left over. Some craft stores (or sections of bigger stores) will have kits for beginning drawing with instructions, a pad, pencils, eraser, stub, etc. packaged together. Simple instructions you don't get to examine before buying.
Reply:a set of different dencety pencils. Maybe water color pencils. She could sketch with them and then brush over them with water and blend it a bit.
Reply:An art book or maybe like some plants that she can sketch.
Reply:a toaster.
Reply:a sketchbook and some nice sketching pencils or eboni pencils and a mead eraser
Reply:U can try buying her different varieties of flowers in pots or vases, and a nice looking sketchbook, maybe some flower seeds that she could plant?
Reply:Charcoal. Its a blast to work with!
Go to an art store and ask them to set you up with a set, dont forget paper, under $20.

My son is in a play. Girls get flowers on opening night. What should a boy get?
What etiquette is there for giving gifts on opening night of a play for the male actors? Females usually receive flowers. Is it appropriate to give males flowers too?
My son is in a play. Girls get flowers on opening night. What should a boy get?
It is okay to give whatever small gift you think your son would enjoy. Flowers are perfectly alright for a boy. Perhaps a frame for a picture of him in costume or a program. Candy is also not a bad choice.
Reply:When I taught 5th grade, and girls got flowers for a special event such as opening night, boys got buttonnieres made of a rose with a little baby's breath and small ribbon. The boys thought they were all grown up!
Reply:I'm an 18 year old male who's been doing plays for 6 years. Boys have always received flowers right along with the girls in all cases I've seen...
Reply:I've been to large theaters and males have received flowers along with females. Depending on his age, I'd ask him if he felt comfortable with that first.
Reply:Flowers are perfectly acceptable for a man as well....
Reply:All the boys I've worked with get flowers. But candy would be a good idea.
Reply:A good book, some poems by WB Yeats perhaps or Patrick Kavanagh. Include a thoughtful inscription.

God Bless
Reply:The guys in the productions we've done have all recieved flowers and have been fine with it.

Reply:Although I have seen answers here that say a boy can also get flowers, I think most of them would be happy with a card and possibly a gift certificate or even a regular certificate in a frame to compliment their acting achievement. You can do a certificate that is in a joking manner as well - such as, "The Next James Dean," or something like that.
Reply:A job
Reply:It's ok to give a boy flowers. But he might feel embarrassed around his friends, So ask him, maybe cards? Money? lol
Reply:Flowers are perfectly acceptable to give a young actor on opening night. Just pick a hardy flower in a bold colour. Red roses are also a good choice.
Reply:Give him flowers too! He'd like that!!
Reply:FLOWERS....after a performance they represent a good job done....it doesnt really matter that hes a boy
Reply:i think flowers are ok, if you pick a non-frilly variety. balloons are good, too. or (depending on your son's age), a congratultory bottle of champagne would be appreciated.
Reply:dough.
Reply:Usually a bottle of whiskey is considered acceptable.
Reply:A traditional gift for actors, male or female, is a blue marble egg. Sounds crazy, no? The tradition comes from a play but I'm not sure which one. I believe they make reference to the practice in Funny Girl, but again am not positive.
I received a medal of St. Genesius (patron saint of actors) on opening night of a production when I was 16 years old and even though I am not Catholic and am in fact a non-believer, still wear it today and every day, some 40 years later.
Either of those would be appropriate and keep reminding the actor of his experience on stage.
And.... I just looked across my desk and found the letter opener presented to me for a show I did in 1967, I guess that also proves to be more lasting than the flowers I often received on opening nights.
Reply:I am a male actor and have been given flowers many times. But all of them don't hold a candle to what my dad game me one time. he gave me a great cigar. Now that is the best gift to get after a show.

Do you like making gifts to women? Or just flowers seem enough?
I think it depends on the woman and also how the man expresses his love. I make sure my fiance has roses at least every other week, and when we go a few days without seeing each other due to schedules I drop a card in the mail. When I go out of town, I always bring something back that she will like. Also I will leave a little note somewhere for her to find later just saying I love her.
Do you like making gifts to women? Or just flowers seem enough?
I've always thought flowers were nice, but my wife really is moved when I make her something or take the time to find something really perfect for her. I'm a dolt tho, I have only made her a gift once.
Reply:I think the best gift to give is a dirty sanchez. They seem to enjoy it as much as me. Nothing says I love you quite like a dirty sanchez.

What are your favourite flowers and why ? A free bouquet for the best answer.?
Who would you send a bouquet of flowers to and why? If you are chosen as the best answer a bouquet from smart-twigs florists www.flowers-affordable.com will be sent to your special person free of charge.
My gift to you.
What are your favourite flowers and why ? A free bouquet for the best answer.?
My favorite flowers are the ones my kids made for me from pipe cleaners and coffee filters when they were younger - I treasure them and have them displayed on my desk at work in a Mother's Day "vase" they painted for me from a soup can. My sons are older now, 13 and 12, but they're still my favorite flowers. However, if I were to choose one person to receive flowers, it would be my step-mom, Leona. My dad died in Sept of 98, and until his death he used to bring her flowers all the time - she loves fresh flowers of all kinds! I try and remember to bring her flowers on her birthday in memory of my dad... but I know if he's looking down from heaven, he'd love to see her receive flowers from someone else, knowing that in a real roundabout way, they were inspired by him. Her favorites are anything purple - her favorite color.
Thanks for reminding me of a special memory I have of my dad. :)
Reply:Hi, can you please contact me @ sweetrosiepetal@yahoo.co.uk with details of the address you would like the flowers to go to. CONGRATULATIONS i look forward to hearing from you and it will be a pleasure. Report It

I sent some to my friend that I bought at a flower show. It was her birthday in March. I bought yellow ones. They were beautiful
Reply:Assorted cut flowers are my favorite.
Reply:my flower is lilacs/white roses but i would send flowers to my mom most likely since my dad doesn't get her flowers that often. She likes easter lilys especial since her birthday is normally around easter.
Reply:I would send one to either my mom or sister. Because they mean the world to me. I would probably send Hydrangeas cause it means so much to all of us.
Reply:I am not the expert on flowers because I have never received any.
Reply:FREE DID YOU SAY FREE!?! Ummm i would probably send them to my dad who just lost is wife and friend tocancer a year ago and now he's trying to get back into the dating game. But there are a lot of gold diggers out there and i would say theywere from his two lovely women in his life his daughters. Is that sappy?Carnations are my favourite flower actaully there my sister and my moms favourite flower why because they come in sooo many beautiful colours and they last for like a month.
Reply:My favorite flowers are the ones growing in my garden or anyone else. The ones growing wild along the highway. The little ones tucked in a corner under a bush in the woods. All flowers are my favorite at the time I see them! Nature sure does know how to create the most beautiful art I have ever seen. I love the feeling of wonder and awe at the never ending display that nature puts on for everyone. They bring me JOY!!!!!
Reply:my favorite flower is the ones I give my wife and it makes her cry form happiness..
I Love giving her flower all the time..I love to just surprise her at work..or in the middle of the month just for being my wife...
what you think...
Reply:I would send it to my mother. Yeah I know its probably a typical answer. But my mother has been through so much this past year, without going into to much detail. Only hope she is truly happy this year and that God knows he hears all her prayers. Sunflowers would make her happy. They are the 'Happy" flower.
Reply:If I had to pick a favorite flower, I'd have to say Gerbera Daisies. I love all the bold colors they come in. Even just a couple of them look striking in a vase. They last a good while, too, which is important to me.
Reply:my favorite flowers are roses. WHY? because they smell so good, and they're so beautiful. i think they are a girls best friend. i would have them sent to me because i never ever had a bouquet of flowers before.
Reply:i would send some to my mother on my birthday to say thanks for having me,i would send tulips to help mestop robbong them from peoples gardens,i love them
Reply:My favorite flowers are pansies because my grandmother used to plant them everywhere and daisies because they look so happy. i also love lily of the valley because one of my most poignant memories of my other grandmom is that was one of the last things she was actually able to smell as she got older. she is 93 now and has just been told that one of her heart valves is so small it is barely pumping. they say one night she'll fall asleep and just not wake up. i'm going to visit her next week in Nashville (i live in Boston) cause i guess it'll be my last chance. she doesn't have much short term memory anymore, so giving her flowers would be perfect. i'd send her a colorful, cheerful bouquet so that each time she saw it on the table it would be a new surprise for her.

I am seprated from my wife for 5 months, valentine day is coming...Should I give my wife flowers and gift?
We are Muslim marriage couple, should I give my wife flowers and gift after 5 months no gifts to her and on valentine day should I give her flowers and gift.
What do you think? Advice?

Reply:I dont know if you beat her or threatened to kill her or something but yes, send her some flowers, not a package, she might think its a bomb.
Reply:Is it your wish to reconsile with your wife? If it is, you need to show her that you want to be with her and are ready to set aside your differences and try to make your marriage work. If not, do nothing.
Reply:I do not know why you are seperated from her therefore I cannot advise you if it would be creepy or not.
Reply:Give her your love. What better gift. Valentines is actually based on Saint Valentine. I believe he was put in prison, but still married people through the jail bars. I am Christian and you are muslim, but love is still love! Give her your heart. Ask God to forgive you. Then you forgive yourself (we are not perfect) forgive yourself. Then forgive her. The past is the past. Your time is now! Give her your true honest white heart.
Reply:No. Not if you are actually separated. If you are just in different parts of the world, but not emotionally separated, then you definately should give her something. You are emotionally separated, giving her something will be seen as a desperate attempt to get her back and probably annoy her very badly so would have the opposite intended effect and only make things worse.
Reply:Somali,
My wife really would prefer to have chocolate or something to eat over flowers. She gets upset when they die. I would send her a nice birthday card and write a nice little message inside telling her how you feel about her. The nicest things sometimes are unexpected. Have a wonderful evening. I hope that things all work out.
Thanks,

The person who makes a lot more should pay more often. But the guy should pay more than his share generally because gender roles are still a part of attraction.

Does anyone know any flower/ gift shops online, that will deliver to anywhere in the world?
My boyfriend is staying in a hotel in Dubai over Valentine's day on business and I wanted to put something in his hotel room before he got there. Does anyone know of any gift or flower business/shops that are online that would deliver to that location? Something at a fairly reasonable price too. Thank you!

I just found out a website that gives away free hallmark gift cards
I think its 100 bucks to spend on flowers.. with that budget you could easily get a very unique and exotic bouquet or something like that...
here is the link to the website: http://www.mb01.com/lnk.asp?o=1356%26amp;c=191...
good luck :)

What is a good way to give people Valentine gifts without spluring?
I was thinking maybe cute friendship rings I found that we had when we were kids. Flowers, are a possibility but I can only spend so much on a number of people. Any easy homemade gifts that don't look cheap and or a squalor. Thank you!!
What is a good way to give people Valentine gifts without spluring?
here is what I would do. Go to the craft store and find somethings to paint OR make bubbles to hang which is fun. You need ballons (round ones), colorful yarn, glue.
You Blow up the ballon to whatever size you want
Put all the glue in the bowl.
Take the yard and put some in a bowl without tangling it. Normally I take the ball and put in on one side of the bowl and drag the yarn through the bowl as I use it. The yarn needs to be totally soaked with glue
With the glue wet yarn wrap it around the ballon in a diiferent directions. So you can still see the balloon and don't use all the yarn. There should be space where you can see in and there doesnt have to be a pattern unless you want one.
Wait for it to dry.
Pop the balloon and carefully pick the pieces off. At the top put sting to hang it.
Now you can see inside the ball you have made. Inside you can put a picture. Get pink grass and put valentine candy in it. Stuff a small beanie baby in there OR real/silk flowers and make an arangement on the inside
It can hang from anywhere and can be used as a decoration in a childs room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. etc
I have seen this same project only people use clear spray paint instead of glue and spray in on the yard and balloon.
Reply:Spluring is a made up worth that I'll take to mean spewage of bliss. Thus, don't give large females vibrating valentines cards if you dont want to get your shoes wet.
