I was given flowers in many event but I don't get the meaning of them,I don't know if it is because it is not in my culture but I don't understand it.They are very expensive ,I would choose to buy a gift that will last longer than flowers. Can anyone explain to me how and why it has become so meangfull to some people...
What the meaning of the flowers that are given to special events or ceremonies?
"The practice of giving fresh-cut flowers to one's beloved is a modern-day replacement for the traditional gift of fresh-killed game animals."
It's like offering part of a meal for a celebratory feast, only without the blood and guts of a fresh kill since most of us shop at the grocery for our food these days... :)

Is flowers the right gift for the newly wed on the wedding day or shud I get something more.?
I mean is it the APPROPRAITE gift.....FLOWERS. HELP...
Is flowers the right gift for the newly wed on the wedding day or shud I get something more.?
I would say no. The bride already has flowers. Get something else.
Reply:Flowers usually figure in the ceremony, so often flowers could get lost in the decorations. It may depend on your situation. Many couples create registries to help people know what they want. If you don't have a lot to spend, something handmade or personal may be the way to go. Try asking a member of the wedding party, if you are close enough to know them. A discreet parent of the couple can also be a great help. Good hunting.
Reply:something more flowers arent a good gift and everyone will think you brought something with the flowers! Something they can use is better silverwear plates clothes etc

What are some condolence gifts in cultures outside the United States?
When someone dies, it seems flowers tend to be the standard condolence gift. I was curious if this was different in other countries (outside of U.S.), cultures, etc. Does anyone know other customs involving gifts to a grieving family?
What are some condolence gifts in cultures outside the United States?
I know many cultures will go to the house for the family of the deceased and help them clean and get things together, sometimes a cook a nice big meal for them too, basically do favors to help get through the hard time

Ladies.....When you receive gifts like chocolates or flowers or even jewellery.....?
what does each of it symbolize....expensive gift most affection? What do you think?
Ladies.....When you receive gifts like chocolates or flowers or even jewellery.....?
The important thing is not how much it costs, but that I like it. This will show that he really knows me.
My boyfriend and I are paying for our educations right now, so we don't have the cash to give each other presents. Instead, sometimes I come home to find that he has cleaned my house for me! Or, he'll wash my car. He's a keeper!
Reply:No, it means the person who gave you the gift was thinking about you and wants you to feel special. Regardless of how much it costs, its always the thought that counts!
Reply:I think that flowers or chocolates symbolize the love he is giving to you. Jewelry may be expensive and very pretty but it isn't always a sign of love. Somtimes guys buy you jewelry to win over your heart, but do they truely love you? Chocolates and flowers come from the heart. I would much rather prefer Chocolates or flowers over jewelry unless it's a wedding band of course :D
Reply:Nope, expensive or cheap, they are only as good as the trouble and thought that went into them.
How much trouble did he go through to get the gift.
I would rather have a bouquet of grocery store flowers that he went in and picked out, than 1-800-flowers that used a phone call and credit card.
Reply:i dont think the price has anything to do with how special the gift is or how much a man likes/loves you
Reply:Let see i don't like chocolate so if my partner got me chocolate i would symbolize that he don't pay attention!
Flowers are GREAT i love them they cost a lot but i always enjoy flowers -- would mean much more if it came from the ground and he cut them himself.. maybe a poem too that to me is priceless and if he does that the next few days will be door closed we are not home days! if you know what i mean!
Jewerly i only want one peice that engagment ring! when the time is right of course but that means that he loves me and wants to be with me for life!
cost don't mean much the heart does
at least for me this is what means the most@
Reply:I think I appreciate flowers most because it shows someone knows that I love flowers and sees me as feminine.
Jewelry is nice if its my taste, but there's nothing worse than getting jewelry that isn't my taste and is, instead, someone else's taste.
I don't really see chocolates as a great gift from someone who's a boyfriend. They're food and they're brown, and they're sugary. I like a good chocolate, but I don't see them as gift material from a boyfriend. Maybe its because they seem to say, "Here's some food. I bet you'll love food." or "Here's some candy, Little Girl."
The person's income and the relationship are factors. If a super-wealthy person you've been going out with for two years gives you flowers and nothing else it sends a bad signal. On the other hand, if a super-wealthy person is always buying you jewelry there's something less than nice or special about that too.
If you've only been going out with someone for a little while flowers are perfect. Jewelry would be too much and too weird and a signal that the person didn't know what was appropriate.
In general, though, I pretty much do subscribe to "its the thought that counts".

Reply:If my hubby buys me chocolate, to me it is a sweet gesture. Usually we end up eating the chocolate together, discussing our day,etc... flowers are a nice thought to me, I use them on our dinner table to add a touch of "homey" feeling. As for jewelry, the last piece I received was for Mother's Day this year and it was a Mother's ring. The ring, for me, was the most precious thing I own. It has my husband's, mine, and both children's birthstones. The sentiment behind it means a lot to me. Cost on any of those items is irrelevant to me.
When I was just dating, if I received any of those from a boyfriend, I usually saw it as a very sweet gesture, no matter the cost.

Gladioli -- if they're all gay.
Reply:give them a coffee cup full of candy! or a desk plant .. not a flower, but a plant. Most men in my office think it's gay to get flowers ... then again they're all homophobes. Anywho... i find that candy goes over well with them .. try it!

Try a very small bottle of aftershave or two cans of beer? A shot of spirit in a small bottle? Chocolates?
Good luck

Reply:Coming from a guy who works in an office, here are a few ideas that wont break your bank:
1. A coffee or tea mug.
2. A cool plastic water tumbler.
3. A small flashlight for those times they need to crawl under their desk to fix something on their computer.
4. A clever pen or mechanical pencil.
5. A $5 card to Starbucks assuming one is near your new office.

Sorry, but most guys are still uncomfortable with the idea of ladies giving flowers to men. And appearance-enhancing items - such as shaving gear - are a bit too intimate for co-workers. Go with the cookies.
Reply:Men---if they write a lot for their job, a pen with the company name on it would be nice.If not---feed them, they really like food.Good luck........
Reply:A good luck bamboo would be a good idea. I gave one to my former coworker when he bought a new house and he loved it.
Reply:I once sent my husband a bouquet of "cookies".
They're homemade cookies in a variety of arrangements....check the internet.
I sent him a golf arrangement and he loved it.
Reply:I think that guys will see you giving them a flower as a question of their masculinity. Maybe a cofee mug would be better? Or a mousepad? Or a notepad?
Reply:Gourmet baskets with cheeses and meats or candies/cookies. Can't go wrong with food!

NEVER EVER give them these!!!!
Potted plants like money plant, cactus will do fine.
Coffee mugs with the their names engraved, painted, stenciled on it will do good. Practical.
His favourite snacks, titbits will make good gestures.

Can you plant flowers that have been cut already?
I'm wondering if it is possible to plant flowers(like roses you may give for a gift) in the earth, for example your backyard. I have some for mothers day and thought it would be great to plant them and have fresh cut flowers sometimes. Thank-you.
Can you plant flowers that have been cut already?
No. I am a florist, and there is no way for a cut florist-shop rose to grow roots. The best you can do is find out the variety of rose that you have (you can ask the florist where they came from - bring the rose to them) and then try to find a full plant online. All roses have names such as Freedom or Goldrush, etc., and plants can generally be obtained.
Reply:although most of the time once you cut the flowers they have died there is a way that you can actually grow a rose-bush from a cut rose but you have to sacrifice the flower so this negates the enjoyment. (I can't remember the technique right now but ist is labour intensive and you might get 1 or 2 successes from a dozen roses)
Why not get some plants anyway of the flowers you most enjoy and grow them. It is fun to pick flowers from your garden.
Reply:No, hon, sorry but you must have roots for flowers to grow. Enjoy your roses while you can. Take pictures.
Reply:I hope the question and answer will help you.

Do flowers have any special meanings in China?
On what occasions do Chinese send flowers to each other?
What are the functions of flowers at weddings and restaurants?
When did you last send flowers?

What are the best and least expensive pink flowers for mother's day?
I donated to a breast cancer organization for my mother and my aunt's mother's day gifts. To not just hand them a piece of paper, I had the idea of also getting them pink flowers. Which ones should I be looking for that are inexpensive yet beautiful for mother's day?
I could spare some cash but I gave up most of my money on the donation for both women......
What are the best and least expensive pink flowers for mother's day?
The least expensive would be a bouquet of carnations. They are the cheapest flower, generally.
However, for the same price you could probably get a stargazer (a huge white and pink lily), and even just one of those is magnificent and beautiful and they smell heavenly!
But I also wanted to say good for you on donating your money. I know you didn't do it for accolades, but it was a very generous thing to do. =)

Reply:Gerainiums - comes in beaytiful pinks or red and will bloom for most of summer

Walmart has some really pretty ones right now!

What type of flowers would make a good birthday gift for my girlfriend?
hey beautiful
im sure its not the brand of flowers that will make her happy but itll be you...... so whatever you get her will make her happy... good luck !!!
Reply:Flowers shouldn't be used as a gift per se. They should be used as a way to tell the other person that you love her and are thinking about her. You should definitely give them to her, but don't let it be the only thing you do. Depending on your depth of affection for her, the type of flowers with change. My boyfriend had to buy flowers for my birthday only ten days after we'd been dating. He got me pink roses in a heart shaped vase, because I love pink and hearts. We've been dating now for 3 1/2 months and I still remember those roses.
Reply:well the flowers usually accompany the gift.. but orchids are my favorite they are beautiful and exotic... im always impressed if I get these from a man
Reply:This is a personal question, you need to find out what her favourite flowers are.
a lot mentioned tulips, I don't like them.
Calla lilies are beautiful, roses is a classic, I love birds of paradise or a nice mixed bouquet is a always a winner too.
Reply:It depends on several things...
How long you are dating for... how much you know her....How does she like.. but above all, put so much love when you but it. I personally should like only one red or white rose and some little but "touching" gift , that shows her how much you love and know her

Sentimental and sweet. You probably enjoy a nice walk on a quiet beach with your girl.

Adventurous, and out going. You're probably not interested in the mundane.

How can i get a texas licence to buy wholesale flowers?
my father and stepmother are getting married through the church and we are having a family get together at our ranch home . I have always loved to do creative work and often buy retail flowers and arrange them. i would like to make the flower arrangments for the event but buying the flowers retial at the amount we need is not practicle. so i am trying to get a licence to buy wholesale flowers, but don't know how and search engines are no help. i do not need a vendors licence because i would only use it for my personal use or for buying and arrging as gifts. can anyone help?
How can i get a texas licence to buy wholesale flowers?
Contact your local Sales Tax Office.

OR
http://www.window.state.tx.us/taxpermit/
You need to find a business name for the Tax Number. $10.00 for a business name usually. Use to be $25.00 for the Tax Permit....
Reply:The only reason you need a license is to collect the tax when the flowers are sold. Tell the wholesale house you want to pay cash.
Reply:Greetings,
I have baught wholesale flowers from www.nationalflowermart.com before and they were very friendly, and helpful. They ship nationawide for free! and seem to be very reputable as I was referred to them online, and can help you out with whatever flowers you need. They carry allot of diffrent kinds. We got roses, for our wedding which lasted 8 days! They were unbeleivable. Well I hope this helps good luck!
Reply:yes, you do need to get a business name, and a TAX id number. Even on some wholesale companies online, they require a tax ID...so go to the County for that!
Reply:Do you have any friends in the flower business? If so, ask them if you can get a deal through them.
I bought all my flowers for my wedding at the local craft store. I know if you are pressed for time then this won't help. Hobby Lobby has their silk flowers on sale for half off several times a year. Right now the single stems are on half off until May 5. Bushes are half also. I used a whole bunch of bushes/garlands for my flowers. I cut them and arranged them how I wanted them.
Also other places like JoAnn's and Michaels have sale like this. I know if you have a Garden Ridge then that is an excellent place too.

When an actress is in a play, you give her flowers. What do you give an actor for a performance well done?
My boyfriend is appearing in a play this Saturday.
I am not sure what I should give him. Should I give him flowers, or a more "guyish" sort of gift to tell him I appreciate the work he's just done on stage?
When an actress is in a play, you give her flowers. What do you give an actor for a performance well done?
This is my feeling about this.
I am a 39 year old male, straight. (Just as a reference for you).
I know guys say it's all feminine for a guy to get flowers but I am telling you that when my wife and I were first dating I bought flowers constantly and loved doing that for her but one day, I was in class and flowers were delivered to me in front of everyone. It blew me away and I think it was one of the nicest/ sweetest gifts ever and I will always remember that. I think this actor of yours would be touched by your actions and find it such a nice surprise.
Reply:I think flowers should be fine. Male actors do receive bouquet of flowers as well. Well, I think your boyfriend would be happy to whatever gift he is receiving. It's the thoughts that counts =)
Reply:When I used to perform in shows my friends and family gave me things like hand written notes or go to hallmark store and make your own personalized card for him.
Reply:whenever i am in a show everyone gets flowers, guys and girls. in the theatre flowers are a way of saying good job to everyone. its also fun to go out for ice cream with a bunch of people after a show! gifts aren't everything, talking to people about the experience you just had is very valuable.
Reply:You could go to a restaurant and have the staff tell him Congratulations right before they shove a large cream pie in his face.
Or wait till you get home and do it yourself.

Flowers , Candy, Books Beauty Products I'm running out of ideas for girl friend gifts any ideas?
make something from the heart you don't always have to give her stuff. like a framed picture of you and her together is good!
Flowers , Candy, Books Beauty Products I'm running out of ideas for girl friend gifts any ideas?
Hmmmm...
Here's a few ideas.
- a magazine subscription to something she has an interest in. Lots of choices at http://magazines.homemade-success.com
- a personalized gift from Gifts for You Now
http://giftsforyou.homemade-success.com
- a coffee or tea package from Joffreys
http://joffreyscoffee.homemade-success.c...
- yes, candy, but with a twist; like a chocolate candy bar card
http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/choc...
- a special love note from PassionUp

Hope that helps...

Reply:a pretty bracelet; a nice picture frame (maybe she'll put your pic in it!), a new racket if she plays tennis, a homedic foot spa, some DVDs, a watch, a vanity plate for her car, dinner at a trendy restaurant?
Reply:lol, i agree with the first three, of course. And not knowing anything else about your relationship makes this difficult, but maybe a romantic night in (you cook dinner, candles, music) or perhaps something she would never expect, say......
A hot air balloon ride at dusk, or a wagon drawn ride through the country (not THE country, you know, IN the country) or perhaps take her to see a show (not a movie, a show. at a theater).
If she's special to you, and you are special to her, chances are that she would REALLY enjoy making a memory with you that she can always cherish....
Reply:you can never go wrong with diamonds ..
Reply:How do you feel about jewelry? Are charm bracelets in style? You can buy a nice bracelet and add charms for special occasions- birthdays, holidays, etc.
Does she have any hobbies? You can buy gifts to support her hobbies (knitting, sewing?)
You can gather gifts (theme) and put them in a nice basket- like a relaxation basket- bubble bath, CDs, a sleep mask, etc.
Just a few ideas.
Reply:Money or gift cards always work...
Reply:Give a gift card of your own design that says "One free day to do whatever YOU want to do."
Reply:One gift that I always love to recieve and make is gift baskets. They are both affordable and personal. It shows that person that you took enough time to really think about them and your relationship and make something special just for them. All you need is a basket (any size, you probably have one around the house), shredded paper (to fill the basket), the clear wrap (to cover the basket) and a pretty bow to put on top. All this stuff can be found at dollar tree.
Here's some things u can put inside(most can be found at your local dollar tree or wal-mart)
- a picture of you two in a cute frame
- a mix cd of her favorite songs (or love songs)
- her favorite candy
- a stuffed animal
- a handwritten love note or poem
- perfume
- body wash, lotion, etc.
- a blank scrapbook to fill with pictures from your relationship
- a newspaper from the day you got together
- jewelery
- something that relates to her hobbies
Hope this helps! and good luck. Im sure she will appreciate anything you give her.

Reply:A gift from the heart!!! What about a bracelet engraved with the words "I Love You" or a bracelet with her name on it? Or what about a picture of the two of you in a frame? The best gift idea would be to make a CD for her of music that you both enjoy listening too. You could add music to the CD that reminds you of her. If you both share a song together you could add that to the CD too. Gifts from the heart are the best!!

I am ETIQUETTE ILLITERATE: why do ppl get flowers for teachers at graduations instead of regular gifts?
tonight was my daughter's preschool graduation and i got each of the two female teachers a gift certificate for a haircut at a high end salon in the neighborhood and a Thomas Kinkaid candle in a tin and everyone else got vases of flowers??? was this FOOLISH of me?
I am ETIQUETTE ILLITERATE: why do ppl get flowers for teachers at graduations instead of regular gifts?
I think that was the smarts , you put thought in to your gift and defiantly original.
don't get me wrong flowers are nice , but how may vases of flowers dose one person need?
Their is no Etiquette saying you have to give teachers only flowers.
There was nothing foolish about your gift.
Reply:i think that is a great idea
what are they going to do with all those flowers
Reply:Most people choose flowers because it is easier. It's hard to come up with a thoughtful gift for people whom you don't have a personal relationship with. I think your gift was quite thoughtful. Just hope they don't think u gave them the gift as a hint!! :)
Reply:That's not foolish at all! I love that idea!! I don't know who started this thing about getting teachers presents! Crazy!! Never happened when I was in school!! Don't people who have children have enough bills already? Now to me, that is Foolish!!
Reply:Okay, the haircut coupon....very bad idea. That would fall into the "Awful gift category" along with any kind of soaps, body sprays, perfumes, or makeup. Only give these items to people if they specifically ask for it, if you give them any other time its like sending a bad message. THe candle, totally good idea, candles are ALWAYS a great gift, they're simple and almost everyone likes candles. But flowers truly are the simplest, yet still meaningful gift to give. Its saying "Hey i was thinking of you and you're great." Candles can still be a bad idea because you might get them a scent that they absolutely HATE, but with flowers, theres no going wrong. SUre people can hate the smell of flowers, but hey, who was supposed to guess that you hated that. No one. So you should have gone with flowers, or a restaurant gift certificate instead of the salon.

How do I get my boyfriend to give me gifts without telling him to?
It's been three years, and not once has he given me gifts, sent flowers, or even a card to say Happy Birthday. How do I get hime to send me this stuff without him asking or telling him I want those things?
How do I get my boyfriend to give me gifts without telling him to?
SEND yourself some flowers and when he sees them say " oh I wish I knew who sent them isnt that the sweetest thing ever?" Either that or hey Im one of those girls that if u gotta ask for it or hint for it I dont really want it cuz it didnt come from THEIR heart! You could start giving him little presents and cards and he might get the hint that way. U know like Easter is coming- make him a basket full of candy and yummies and then he will feel like an *** for not hetting you anything. THAT might make him stop to think!!!!! Good luck to u!
Reply:try buying him a gift
Reply:I agree. Give him a random gift. Something you know he wants. Then write a note saying something like "I know you really wanted this, and getting presents always make the day brighter, so here you go!" Something cheesy, but point out the importance of showing appreciation. If that doesn't help, just tell him. Guys can be thick headed!
Also, you might try bringing home flowers for yourself or send some to your office. That way he will see how happy it makes you, and hopefully he will want to do the same for you!

My fiance and I found wedding barbies. Can we give those to our two flower girls as gifts?
They are both only five years old.
My fiance and I found wedding barbies. Can we give those to our two flower girls as gifts?
I think those are wonderful. They will definitely get some good play out of them at that age. Young flower girls really don't understand the sentiment in some other gifts so I think those are perfect! Good for you. Have a beautiful wedding!
Reply:My daughter received a doll as a flower girl gift. Most likely it is stuffed under some corner in her closet with the head torn off. My daughter is not a big fan of Barbies. She never has been. I personally would never have thought to give any toy to the children in a wedding party. I'm more of a fan of the "they'll appreciate this later" type of a gift. Our flower girls received pearl stud earrings. They wore the earrings in the wedding and they still have a classic piece of jewelry now that they are in their teens and going to dances/proms. The choice is ultimately yours, but I wouldn't give a toy.

Reply:Have you seen the wedding barbie bouqets that come with the wedding barbies?
They are plastic bouqets (available in pink and blue fabric flowers) that when you move the bow around the bouqet a small "Kelly" barbie comes out of the top and the flowers become her dress. They doll completely comes out so they can play with her and it's just a stand in the handle so any barbie can stand in the base (designed like the stems) after the day.
I am considering giving one of these to my daughter but seeing the wedding is not until the end of december there might be something else cool she'd rather have (she's older than your flowergirls though so i'd go for it!)
Reply:Only if you want them to develop an eating disorder and underscore the dominant sexual paradigm.
It's a really nice thought, but I don't think it's appropriate in this day and age. Plus, they'll only like them for a year or two and then they'll outgrow them.
When I was a flower girl, my aunt and uncle got my sister and me personalized necklaces with our names on them. They were cool and we still like them even as we've grown up. Little pins with their initials on them are cool too. Or personalized rubber stamps! With wedding bells!
Think about things that they will like -- but that won't screw them up mentally and emotionally.

Can anyone suggest a good home recipe for adding to water to keep cut flowers fresh? ?
When you are gifted with, or buy, fresh flowers you get a little packet of powder to add to the water to feed the flowers and keep them fresh. That is supposed to be done every 3 or 4 days so the flowers outlast the flower food. Anyone have a good home recipe?
Can anyone suggest a good home recipe for adding to water to keep cut flowers fresh? ?
Sunset Magazine did some experimentation on this subject. The best they found was using lemon flavored soda in the water. I think it was 2/3 water to 1/3 soda.
Some flowers (stocks) last longer if the stems are pounded. Poppies last if you sear the stems with a flame. Roses need to be re-cut under water. Suspect you could do a Yahoo search and get more specifics.
Reply:Aspirn for sure but you need to cut an inch maybe less off the stems of the flowers as well to keep them looking good and last longer.
Reply:Instead of adding anything to the water, cut off the end of the stems each day so that the tissue can continue to take up water freely. Use room temperature water, so that you don't "shock" the plant tissue, and enjoy!
Reply:Aspirin is good, but when I lived in Germany I was taught by a little German woman to add two or three copper pennies to the water.
It seemed to work and the flowers lasted a long time!
Reply:I heard a few drops of bleach works best.
Reply:Use aspirin in the water. Works like a charm.
Reply:I absolutely agree with "dances with unicorns". It's not what you put in the water, it's trimming them everyday and changing the water.
Reply:the floer food packets mainly contain an acidic to maintain flow of water up the stem, a sugar as food, and something that kills the bacteria and fungi.
acids include lemon juice or viniger
bleach, copper (a penny), and asprin all kill fungi and bacteria.
lemon-lime sodas contain both acids and ALOT of sugar that feeds the flower.
also cut it under water so air does not go up the stem and suffocate it. recut them a little bit every few days, they tend to clot.
dont remove thorns it shortens its life, but remove leaves that will be submerged under the water.
keep them in cold water.
pppl even advise to refrigerate them for a few hours before arranging.
i prefer the first source i listed. it also includes how to make this glycerin solution that preserves the flowers for years, and how to properly dry ur flowers.
Reply:Generic grocery store brand Lemon Lime soda pop!
About 1/2 can to the vase-ful!
Reply:I saw a TV show segment once where they tested different "tricks" like aspirin, sugar, the little packet, etc. and the thing that kept the flowers looking their best the longest was to completely change the water daily. Use warm water, so as to not shock the flowers. If I buy flowers and bring home to arrange, I put them in warm water in the sink and cut their stems underwater, at an angle so they cannot sit against the bottom of the vase and not draw water. Some flowers have stems that weep, and those end cuts are supposed to be sealed to as to not contaminate the water in which they're placed.
Reply:aspirin, not tylenol or advil...plain old aspirin
Reply:1 tablespoon sugar to 1/2 gallon water??? Grandma swore by it.
Reply:Not exactly what you are looking for, but here are a couple of my tricks.
Drooping flowers can be revitalized by placing them in a vase of hot water, directly (2-3 seconds), after cutting off the bottom two inches of the stems. Most flowers will perk up before your eyes.
A drop or two of bleach can be added to the water before you place the flowers in, this will help to sanitize the water from any bacteria that could hurt the flowers. The bleach will NOT hurt the flowers in this concentration.
Reply:1 bayers aspirin has always kept flowers fresh. My mom has used this for years with no problem especially on roses. Sounds corney but works.

What color and type of flowers is the proper gift for a leading actress or actor in a live theatre production?
Roses or carnations, or something else entirely?
How many, and what color(s)?
What color and type of flowers is the proper gift for a leading actress or actor in a live theatre production?
Usually a bouquet of red roses are given out at our theatre. However, single carnations are nice to give out for those who don't want to spend the money on a whole bouquet.
If I were you, I'd get red roses. But please don't get the kind of flowers that have petals that fall off easily because they pose a serious threat to the performers.
Think about it, if the performer was allergic to the flowers they couldn't perform, or if a performer slipped from some petals on the stage...
some things to think about really.
Reply:While a dozen red roses are the norm, I suggest something more original. You can ask the florist to make up a "dramatic" bouquet....it will be admired and talked about much more than red roses. When red roses arrive backstage, everyone says "aw" and thinks "how nice"....when a more dramatic bouquet arrives backstage, everone inhales with surprize and thinks "wow!"....it makes you look like a more interesting person. Try a bouquet featuring a few each of gladiolus and dendrobium, plus a few other (less expensive) flowers to fill it out. Think color, think drama, but skip the roses, in my opinion.

Certainly YOU can inflate your own ego, and perhaps an Actresses to a higher level by spending more money,,, but there are no RULES.
You might do a service however, by inquiring in advance as to HER faves??? Or as one answers states,,, HER possible allergies???
It also may depend on the size of the production, the status of the actress, locally or globally, and certainly your budget.
Life is long,,, Pace yourself,,, I hope you won't make this a driving force in how you conduct your life in general? No offense.

Reply:I would say two to three dozeen red roses.
Reply:if you know the person as a friend, something besides red roses is always nice to get. Perhaps you could splurge and get the actress a single orchid - or something along those lines. I can tell you from experience, it is the gift of the flower (and not how many or what kind) that really matters.
btw, I completely agree with an earlier answer. Nothing that falls all over the place and gets the stage all messed up. That is just annoying.
Reply:stunning and daring. Big deep long stemmed dark red roses would be classic. Gorgeous brilliant colored Tulips good too.

Be different...give the gift of cheerful, bright yellow daffodils! Be original, anything that is daring, different, and not cheap-seeming (hand-picked wildflowers might not go over too well). Show them that they are too special for the same old-same old. If you feel that you must get roses, then find a colour that is different - salmon or coral or magenta.
Reply:red roses, i would say about 30 roses
Reply:All the above are right. Roses are generally the first choice. BUT never buy yellow flowers as they signify jealousy- not a good idea in a performers dressing room!

What's the best way to dry flowers that were received as gift?
I've tried all sorts of things, and just can't seem to make it work. Please help me preserve my anniversary bouquet. Thanks!
What's the best way to dry flowers that were received as gift?
best is to just hand upside down in a dry area; all those drying agents don't work any better and are a waste of money; I went to a place and she had all these bouquets hanging upside down in the back room ; people had paid her to dry out their bouquets and all she did was hang them up ; nice business; more ceiling room please
Reply:While there are many commercial products to dry flowers, I just hang them upside down until dry. This keeps the petals in place.
Some also use a dark closet to keep colors vibrant.
Reply:place the flowers between the pages of a heavy book about half way in and close book on them for several weeks , hope this helps ,
Reply:This works for roses for sure. I hang the boquet upside down. That way they driy in the position they are in. Do it before they are dead though. Once they are dry you can actually put the dried boquet in a vase and they will be perfectly preserved but very delicate. I dont know if this would work for more delicate flowers but for roses and flowers similar it works wonders.
Reply:hang them upside down before any wilting starts, I usually use floss or fishing line, tie em in a bundle and hang...
Reply:the expensive way is put them in a box of silica (it's the stuff that comes in a little package in your shoes says do not eat) you can buy it, not that I know where, but I have seen it on crafting shows...it sucks moisture out of things..but personally i have done the hang it upside down thing as well, works for most flowers but you do have to do it while they are still strong and not wilted, so you really don't get to enjoy them alive
What's the best way to dry flowers that were received as gift?

What are the best flowers or gift to get someone who recently lost someone?
Generally white or any near white shade, to signify grief. preferably the flowers must be less scented also to convey the feeling of sorrow
What are the best flowers or gift to get someone who recently lost someone?
Flowers are beautiful - there is no question of that. However, after a few days they die (which is the cycle of life) but somehow it seems to be so depressing to me (even when I am happy and haven't lost someone).
When someone has a loss such as this, I always like to send a living flower. You could also send a tree if you can afford it. A living flower is something that the loved one can keep as a memento of life, to remember your wish of comfort to them and is a reminder that the world is full of beautiful things that are still here to bring joy to life.
My favorite living flowers are Peace Lillies, they signify peace, which is what you wish for the person who passed and the loved ones they left behind. And Peace Lillies have beautiful, delicate white flowers and they are almost impossible to kill. The plant will thrive in sun to complete shade.
Another possibility is a Gardenia. The Gardenias flowers are delicately ruffled and their smell is sweet and kind of lemony. The are very hardy and can be planted outside to comeback year after year, or potted in a container garden inside.
Whatever flower, plant or gift you choose will be appreciated for the thoughtfulness it is sent with. People who have lost a loved one are truly blessed when they know that they have warm hearts around them in their time of need, so whatever you send will be "just right".
I hope your friend will be comforted in their time of great sorrow.
Reply:Donation to a Charity and meals they can heat up and eat. Most people don't feel like cooking when they are in that state. You could also offer to run some errons for them.
Reply:before my son passed he asked that instead of flowers people would make donations to his fav charities in memory of him
Reply:white roses
Reply:Purple roses. The florist I dealt with said those impart sorrow or regards.
Reply:It sounds kind of impersonal, but I would say money. It would be the most practical. Do you know how much a funeral cost, let alone the headstone! Also this person and their family members are missing out on some work so they are going to be hard up for cash. If you do not want to give money, the next best thing would be food. Who feels like cooking when they are mourning the loss of a loved one?
Reply:every flower but rose is the simbol of love.
Reply:In my opinion you should send some lovely cut flowers. Anything will be well received. I prefer not to send living flowers mostly because I hate receiving them. After I've experienced losses I get bombarded with living plants and then I have to find something to do with them. I don't have the space in my house for them, but I don't want to offend anyone by not keeping them. It's always such a moral dilemma at a time when I really don't need it. I still have a HUGE peace lily that takes up a large part of my living room that I really don't want...but I feel guilty parting with it. I wish my friends had just sent flowers.

Why don't men give flowers (or small gifts, or love notes)?
more often? It makes woman soooo happy and it is so easy and inexpensive. Hint, hint, hint.
Why don't men give flowers (or small gifts, or love notes)?
Most intelligent and thoughtful men do give flowers, small gifts, or love notes to women.....At least the ones I know!

Language of flowers: something that says goodbye and good luck?
I'm looking for flowers that represent new beginings and say goodbye and good luck for a close friend who is moving away. I want to give my friend some flowers as a good away gift. What are some good flowers to use?
Language of flowers: something that says goodbye and good luck?
FLOWERS OF THE MONTH
January - Carnation bestows energy and healing.
Snowdrop symbolizes new beginnings
February - Violets and Primrose are fairy flowers used for love and protection
March - Daffodil is used for fertility and love. It is a traditional spring flower.
April - Sweet Pea symbolizes strength of friendship
Daisy, another fairy flower, stands for love.
The lily is the symbol for the Archangel, Gabriel.
May - Lily of the Valley is a fragrant bridal flower while
Hawthorn is for promoting fertility, happiness, and good luck
In fishing. Seems like these flowers appropriately go together!
June - Rose has always stood for love!
Honeysuckle brought into the home, brings with it more money!
July - Larkspur, or delphinium, is used for protection.
Water Lilies heal the emotions.
August - The Poppy is traditionally used for good luck
September - Morning Glory brings peace and happiness.
Aster is a butterfly favourite of the Greek gods.
October - Calendulas are for justice, strength and healing.
November -Chrysanthemum is supposed to protect you from ghosts.
Considering that Halloween just passed, this sounds like a great idea!
December - Holly, with masculine representations, is used for protection
Ivy, the female representation, is used for fidelity and love.
Poinsettia comes from Mexico with reverence for Our Lady of
Guadalupe with her sacred Day being December 12.
"Sweet flowers alone can say what passion fears revealing," noted the poet Thomas Hood (1799-1485) in his poem The Language of Flowers.
Reply:I just know yellow is friendship.
Reply:Peach Roses are always a winner.
Reply:Are these cut flowers or live? Yellow is a good color, like yellow daisies.
If you want to give a living plant, consider a lucky bamboo plant (the kind that sits in a pot of water and gravel). Another plant that means prosperity is a jade plant (succulent). Expecially the kind with the really small leaves. Best thing about a jade plant is that it's almost impossible to kill them.
Reply:800Florals.com at http://www.800florals.com/care/meaning.a... listed these:
Good luck = white carnation and bells of Ireland
Good bye = cyclamen %26amp; sweet pea

Why do women always want to buy gifts for their soldier?
Im not knocking gift buying.
But why do women, always want to buy gifts for everything?
We see the question in here all the time.
What to buy someone graduating Basic/Boot.
What to buy someone graduating AIT.
What to buy someone deploying.
What to buy someone coming back from deployment.
Is it, because, you find yourself in a situation where you have no control over whats happening, and it lets you assume some sort of control and makes you fell involved ?
I look at it from the male perspective, and I can't see buying someone a gift for those occassions, beside flowers when she came home.
Im just trying to get some insight into the female mind.
Help me out here, please.
Why do women always want to buy gifts for their soldier?
Jeepers: I have many sisters and have learned a LOT about women over the years. The most important thing I've learned is that it's impossible to understand them. They don't even understand themselves.
Reply:Women are giving that's why. We like to nurture and be loved.
Reply:Well, basic and ait, both accomplishments, therefore give a gift to say congratulations. deploying, its a farewell gift. coming back, its a welcome home gift.....i look at it as i know i would want those times recognized because those are important times in my life. i give my hubby a gift for every little accomplishment he does, i.e. he just finished his first college class and passed, i bought him a cute bbq apron and bbq utensils for when him and his buddies bbq, just to say good job hunny im proud of you. Not only that, but I know a lot of guys that give flowers for all those reasons you just mentioned also.
Reply:Women are stupid that way, trying to get insight into the female mind will only make you stupid too.
Just nod your head and act like they are actually accomplishing something.
Reply:Because we love them
Reply:I gave my husband a gift after he graduated from boot camp and from A school. I love to give him lil gifts. It is just a way of showing i care for him. He does the same thing for me. Its jst a way of showing some 1 that you care and love them, thats all.
Reply:Ever heard the expression "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth'?
Is it the gifts that bother you or the feeling that you have to reciprocate? I know for myself I enjoy showing my appreciation for my man with a gift now and then whether it's a thing or an action. Sometimes it's a six pack of his favorite beer if it sounds like he's had a rough day and needs to unwind. We do it because it makes us feel good to show we think about you and love you. And a gift should always be given with no strings attached otherwise it's not a gift it's a bribe.
Reply:I dunno, because they freakin' care. If you don't want a gift just say so.
Reply:Don't worry about it.
At all.
Ever.
That was my approach and eventually I stopped getting all that useless junk I didn't need or want, didn't care for, and soon lost.
She DID get me a bottle of Wild Turkey for my birthday once and that was greatly appreciated, but really ladies, guys buy the things they need when they need them and really don't want to be encumbered with useless knick-knacks whose only value is sentimental.
Reply:i know i like to get things for my solider husband because i love him so much and he is my life and my hero plus women like to shop when stressed and heck why not buy a gift for there solider i do it allot i think it helps me cope with him being away allot and it makes him feel appreciated and he knows that i am always thinking about him
we just like to show we care and to let them know we are there for them and cheering them on its a major thing and a very accomplished thing to be a solider
sometimes i don't buy gifts but make home made ones to keep me busy and creativity is best when it comes from the heart as well
Reply:Military wives lack intelligence. Why would any woman date a man in the military let alone marry one. She obviously is very desperate to spend the majority of her life waiting for a man to get home.
Military men aren't very smart either. They shouldn't be allowed to marry until they get out. 4 years or career. It doesn't matter.

How much does it cost for a reception hall including candles, flowers, and gift bags?
Its a school project for Family Relations and I need help MAYDAY!!!
How much does it cost for a reception hall including candles, flowers, and gift bags?
It depends on where you live-some parts of the country are much more expensive than others. You should call a few places in your area and get some quotes.
Reply:It depends on the size and city; decorations depends upon the number of guests. Sorry, not enough info to estimate costs.
Reply:You're going to have to do some research on your own. All of those things can vary depending on where the hall is, how big it is, how many and what kind of candles, how many gift bags, and what you are putting in them. The point of your school project is to get you to look up all of this stuff yourself, not just come up with a number.
Reply:Depends where you live but east coast
$800 for the hall
$10,000 for the cater- she supplies the candles...
No flowers other then the wedding party $1,000
Gift bags- $200
This is for 150 people
Werid project. Call a hall in your area and get a price. You can get candles from the dollar store. You can use candy for gift bags and make the really cheap less then $1.00 a piece. And you can just call a florist for a price or use fake flowers and it would be cheaper.
Good luck
Reply:I am getting married this summer and it is costing the following: 200 to rent the reception hall, 400 for the dj, 200 for plates, napkins, tablecloths, forks, cups. Gift bags were about 70.00 and my flowers I will end up spending around 300.00 plus, but that is also for my ceremony as well. So a little over 1,000 dollars.

Which are better gifts to the woman one loves; chocolates or flowers?
Don't give me tips, why you think so or any other answer; I just need you good people's choice =)

Which are better gifts to the woman one loves; chocolates or flowers?
Flowers. I say that because some girls don't like eating sweets because girls tend to worry about their weight a lot, so I'd go with flowers because flowers for some reason make girls happy plus their something they can show off to their friends lol. Flowers show that you're willing to spend money too.
Reply:Personally, I feel that chocolates and flowers should never be the main gift for your partner. They should be complements to the main gift, not the main gift itself. It's like how a dinner should not be a gift for your partner, but icing on the cake.
However, if I absolutely have to choose one, flowers.
Reply:Actually, flowers go with chocolates and vice versa as gifts for a woman whom you love, but since you gave me a choice, flowers may serve the purpose better, especially if they are red roses, flowers signify sweetness and passion, love and loyalty, yes they may wither in time but still they can serve as a collection too and may be dried as an artwork and everytime you see them, they will remind you of the important day.....while chocolates can be eaten so the memories go with it too, maybe you can just keep the wrapper as a memento on that special day.otherwise, for a woman, besides flowers , chocolates, you can present her books, novelty items such as bracelts, necklaces, any art work,or perfumes....ok? good luck in your debate....

don't order stuff online, you're missing the point i think somewhere... you have to spend time and effort looking for something special she'll adore. not a few clicks of a mouse...
Reply:Intaflora and floraqueen are both ok, i use them.
Chocs are great, a meal is good at home too.
If you really want to push the boat out, do something that you never do ie. iorning, washing, housework etc (im not saying you dont do these allready, but do something she wont expect)
Reply:get her jellwery we all love dimonds lol....well...we wont go to far
Reply:I have recently ordered flowers from Interflora on line. They are really good, the flowers are lovely and they always come on the day you specify. If your looking for other nice things for the wife, try http://www.figleaves.com/uk/home.asp?src...
Reply:definatly http://www.flowersdirect.co.uk/, they not only send flowers, but you send things like perfumes with your flowers or choccys which are a nice added touch and the flowers are gorgeous! the flowers are cheap for how beautiful they are too! definatly the best flower delivery place by a mile, hope this helps

How to keep flowers fresh in a box?
i was wondering if we were to keep flowers in a gift box...and unable to know how long it will be kept enclosed....so i was wondering are there any possible way to maintain the freshness of the flowers...thks for the help..
How to keep flowers fresh in a box?
http://www.plantea.com/cutflowers.htm
Reply:You have a couple of options. If the box can be kept in the fridge, the flowers will last longer (That is where florists keep flowers). You can also purchase little water vials that attach to the stem of the flower, fill the vial with water and floral preservative, out of heat and direct sunlight and upright (so the vials are at the bottom) and that will also make the flowers last longer. You can also saturate floral foam, insert the flowers in the foam, place the foam in a plastic container and then in the box to keep them fresh longer.

When is the perfect time to give a girl her valentines day gift and flowers?
mostl ikely im going to take the girl i am seeing to dinner..and im going to get her flowers and chocolates before hand...should i give them to her right when i see her at her house? i dont want her to be carrying them all night.
When is the perfect time to give a girl her valentines day gift and flowers?
When the 2 of you are alone! In private. You get an honest reaction they way. She won't be putting on an act for everyone else to see. When you first get to her house, she WILL be expecting something, so, give it to her, the present that is.
Reply:Here's an easy site to find a thoughtful yet inexpensive gift to have delivered http://www.Online-Florists.Reviews-n-Rat... There are special online coupons for flower delivery, special gift ideas, and fancy chocolates too. I know flowers and chocolates are traditional, but that's what us ladies like! :)

Do girls really like that Gifts and Flowers thing?
I don't know but if I was a girl, that's a turn off. It looks nice, but still...
Hey, I'm a freaking guy, what the heck do I know
Do girls really like that Gifts and Flowers thing?
flowers die....the best thing my boyfriend now my hubby ever did was write a notes.....to me on toilet paper so i would have something to read in the bathroom
Reply:Girls like it when you do sweet things...
Flowers at appropiate times, or sometimes 'just because'.
%26amp; gifts that are 'thoughtful' %26amp; appropriate will likely be appreciated as well. If you can bring a smile to her face then it is worth it. You cannot put a price on happiness.
Reply:Yeah, flowers are awesome.
Really, they just make us feel wanted and lets us know that you're thinking of us, which is all a girl really wants.
To be wanted.
If that made any sense
:]
Reply:YES!!... ok well everyone has diff opinions but if there into the romantic sweet stuff... deffinitly....
Reply:Honestly,I don't,I just don't feel right taking gifts like that when there is no occasion.
Reply:I say yes. The flowers are a good idea especially if you get them their favorite ones and same with gifts but im sure they arnt expecting you to give them stuff like that every day so occasionally or on special days i say yes; go out and get that for her.
Reply:Occassionaly, don't overdo it though...
Reply:It depends on the girl. That'd be like saying all boys play foot ball whether it be in school or not. Alot do but some don't.
Reply:Gifts are nice on occasion, but not constantly. One guy sent me a dozen rose bushes instead of cut roses that will die. The bushes came with a big ribbon and were delivered to the place I work, and had a beautiful card that read something corny like "may our love, like these roses, be forever in bloom." I, along with every woman in my building, will love this guy forever. Of course, now I can't let him pick me up at work because my female co-workers flirt with him un-mercilessly. (He later helped me plant a rose garden.)
Reply:As much as I say I don't like spending money on things that die (ie flowers) it is still the sweetest thing when my guys sends me flowers to work...just a simple expression of love or affection that doesn't require words.
Reply:it's sweet for a guy to do this but not the most important thing... I'd rather him be sweet to me in other ways, like a kiss every morning and an I love you every night..
Reply:I know that I love getting flowers and yeah gifts are nice too. It show me that he is thinking of me...
Reply:yeah we do, more chocolate and gifts than flowers, but it's nice to no that your man loves you.

I am seprated from my wife for 5 months, valentine day is coming...Should I give my wife flowers and gift?
We are Muslim marriage couple, should I give my wife flowers and gift after 5 months no gifts to her and on valentine day should I give her flowers and gift.
What do you think? Advice?
I am seprated from my wife for 5 months, valentine day is coming...Should I give my wife flowers and gift?
do you want to reconcile with her? give her a gift and flowers!
Reply:Well it really depends on if you want the divorce or do you want to get back together, either way you could send her a little something just to let her know you are remembering her but be careful as you don't want to give her mixed signals or any false hopes if you have no plans on reconciling.
Reply:Are you wanting to get back with her. If so, yes. If not, no.
Reply:yes you can tell her that even though we are separated i still care about you
Reply:Yes, she is still your wife. Do something nice for her to show her you care about her.
Reply:yes both.. make her feel special and i'm sure she's secretly hopeing you will remember her especially after separation and show her you want her back.
doing something nice and loving for someone has nothing to do with religion.
Reply:if you still get along with her and still have feelings for why not
Reply:That would be really nice of you...
Reply:If you want a reconciliation, then it's worth giving her a small present. But if you aren't certain about that, then don't confuse her and so avoid giving her anything for Valentine's.

Oh, Lin,
Please, block this person from emailing you. He is scamming you. From this little bit I'm reading, it's too obvious. Please look at this forum topic and see if some of it rings true.

before long he may ask you to buy and send items...this one even sent the product code from Bestbuy so I'd buy just what he wanted....but he wouldn't give me the name of his hotel, as he was allegedly from Reston, Va, travelled to Accra Ghana to buy gold bars for his "client"...I suggested his client buy him one...gave me false name, hometown, etc....
Reply:Has he asked for money yet?
Reply:do I what? Think he likes you? Yes
Reply:WELL BE EXTRA CAREFUL, COS IT COULD BE A SCAM. IF NOT BE CAREFUL ANYWAYS, COS HE MIGHT HAVE AN ORTERIO MOTIVE
Reply:He's a con artist! He probably robbed others to get your gifts. Only three things come to mind, money, visa or both. Regardless of which, not only will he be using you, if it is a visa that he is after, you will put yourself in danger as these people don't care what they do to you once they have got what they want. If I was you, I'd ask for more expensive things for a while and then send some back "Return to Sender" and add a little note saying, "Not Known at this Address". You should also change your E-Mail address, if he knows it and also any phone numbers. Some of these people , especially Nigerians, can be dangerous.
Reply:GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!! HE WILL SEEM LEGITIMATE AND THEM ASK FOR MONEY VIA "western union" or "money gram"!!!! BULL****

Which flowers do you think most suit a thank you gift?
My friend's parents recently allowed myself and my other friends to use their beach house for a holiday. We have bought them a bottle of wine and would like also to give them a bunch of flowers to say thank you, however I don't want to get flowers that would be inappropriate for this gift. So, which flowers do you think best say thank you?
Which flowers do you think most suit a thank you gift?
I'd do a mixed basket (small) with a variety of flowers.
Reply:Carnations are nice because they are inexpensive, come in a huge variety of colours, and last for an extremely long time. Maybe you could pick up a bouquet with a mix of flowers that include carnations?
Reply:Flowers that cnotrast with the color of the bottle of whine. If the bottle is a dark color get light flowers. If the bottle is light get darker colored flowers. No roses and if they celebrate christmas you could get them christmas flowers.
Reply:Daisies are always so cheerful and friendly.
Reply:Red or Cherry Spider Lily/ Higanbana/ Lycoris radiata, whatever you want to call them.
Or some cute pink, red, and white cosmos would seems nice to me.
Reply:I would say roses with baby's breath.
Reply:You could get them a plant--they last longer. I love star lillies--they're really pretty. Hydrangeas are also pretty.
Reply:White flowers. They will match any room decor and are the most classy flowers you can get.
Call any florist or go on line, and take a look at their white arrangments.
Avoid holiday arrangments!
Reply:poinsettas
Reply:I would think nice fall flowers would be appropriate.

What are some cool activities or gifts, aside from dinner and flowers, for mother's day?
Seriously find out what she really needs help doing and ask her what date you need to be there.Tell her to make a date for it.It could be just a easy weeding her yard, painting her bathroom, clearing stuff off a top shelf,or raking her yard...Clean the pool.Easy just ask.Give her a May or June calendar and tell her to make a date....
What are some cool activities or gifts, aside from dinner and flowers, for mother's day?
Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
This is a really beautiful poem too!
Women have strengths that amaze us.
They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up for injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without new shoes so their children can have them.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage. Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!
Women do more than just give birth.
They bring joy and hope.
They give compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

Reply:Where do you live? As for activities, if the weather is nice, a nice walk in a local park would be appropriate. If the weather is warm and pleasant, maybe a picnic?
Gifts- a photo of the family in a nice picture frame.
Personal goodies like bubble bath, lotion and the like
A CD from her favorite artists may be a nice gift. She can take a bubble bath, put on the CD and enjoy a glass of her favorite beverage!
I hope these ideas help.
Reply:Hi. You can give her a "GIFTCARD" or a "GIFT VOUCHER". There's usually a range of card designs and denominations to choose from. She can use it to pay for all or part of any purchase.

Do men like poetry, flowers, or gifts(what type)?
No, No, and of course. Try socks, gold, or gear shifter nobs.
Do men like poetry, flowers, or gifts(what type)?
As a man I can honestly say that yes I do enjoy poetry flowers and gifts it makes me feel special and appreciated by my G/F and I love giving her the same I often go out and buy her a small gift or a bunch of flowers just to let her know how much I love her and she quiet often goes out and does the same for me.
Reply:Depends on what type of man. It's more like fast cars, dirt bikes and short skirts
Reply:It depends on that person. I love all of them, and I am a man, if I like that woman, no matter what she gives to me, I will consider it to be nice.
Reply:gifts like BARE BODY..
Reply:I like 18th century french poetry, don't really like flowers, and I love gifts that have something to do with my car or sports. Like new tires, headlights or a set of golf clubs.
Reply:Men react differently then women to this kind of stuff. Women appreciate these things because of the sentiment and emotions associated with them. For a women, it's definitely the thought that counts. For guys, it has more to do with the practical aspect rather than the sentiment, although not exclusively. We may appreciate them, but not at the same level. Poetry and flowers are risky, but OK if the man is sure of himself. He understands how important such gifts are to the women, and if he valued the relationship, would value the gifts accordingly. The guy who is less sure of himself might want to declare his masculinity by brushing them off. As for what kind of gifts, I wouldn't want to address it. You would have to know what the guy liked...hobby-wise, etc. But food always works. Mm mm
Reply:Men might like a small dose of poetry, flowers, and romance, but I've found that any time I get a guy a gadget, I'm a hero. I've given MP3 players (before ipod took over), a really nice compass and other cool "army" supplies, a nice watch, digital camera equipment, cool software. These have all been the most popular.
Reply:guys are different. Normally a guy enjoys a short poem from his girl. It lets him know that she does care enough to take time to write this for me. On the flowers...im not so big into it, but some guys might. Ask him what he thinks...but it's prob going to be a 70-30 chance he'll like flowers...but there are that 30 percent. As to gifts. Who doesn't like gifts?? ...or what you could do is, send some flowers with your poem attached to it telling him that you love him and all, but in a subtle way tell him you got him a gift too when he gets home or something....but I warn you...guys won't or don't know how to take care of flowers! lol. hope this helped.
