why's the man gotta buy stuff like that and supposed t o hold doors for girls and all that jazz when all of these woman are pushing to be considerd equal
The "designated" gift is flowers for girls what is it for guys if any?
Guys don't have to buy anything. It's a romantic gesture and a way of thanking the girl for going out with the guy. It puts things on a good note to begin the evening.
If I am invited to a guys house for dinner or whatever, I usually bring the wine.
Reply:More imporant than the gift is the thought and motivation that it represents.
I think your questions confuse "obligation" with "regard"
While some degree of self preservation seems to always factor into our motivation, your view that these actions are just obligations gives your questions a tone of shallowness, resentment and emotional immaturity. (I am not intending to insult you- I just want to point out that this is not a good approach if you want to endear yourself to a wider selection of females) You will be happy to learn that a man is not obligated to "buy stuff" for a woman, nor is he "supposed" to "hold doors for girls and all that jazz".
The act of gift giving or extending a courtesy is meaningless to the receiver unless it is performed out of a sense of regard. Men who sincerely treat women and others with regard and thoughtfulness tend to also possess a greater sense of self-respect and confidence in themselves- they are not threatened by a woman's success or desire for equality, they recognize the value of creating harmony and happiness around them, and consequently, they tend to be much more attractive to women.
Reply:The designated gift for guys? Submission, of course.

Are flowers a good gift to give a first date if your meeting her at a restaurant?
I wanted to bring flowers for my date, but since were meeting at a restaurant i didnt know if that would be a good idea since there would be no where for her to put them, the resturant also has a dance club for after dinner. Any other ideas would be appreciated too.
Are flowers a good gift to give a first date if your meeting her at a restaurant?
Hmm. How about a single rose? She can put it in the car after you guys eat?! Very thoughtful, BTW!
Reply:I think u should save the flowers for a second date at the park or something, because at a restaurant.. it's not that handy. Good luck!.
Reply:I single rose works best... yellow for friendship, white for purity, red for passion. You choose... but one only.
Reply:Um, depends on the sort of restaurant, but I'd say no. If you want to bring flowers, bring a corsage for her - if the restaurant is a fancy one. If not, maybe a different token of love? A bracelet or other jewelry? I don't know the girl like you do. :)
Reply:Flowers are always a good idea but for this particular occasion, I'd say buy a nice wine at dinner but, if you really want to show up with something in hand hmmmmmm......that is a toughy.
Definitely not a single rose. Women hate this cause it says "I'm too cheat and/or broke to get all 12."
And definitely not carnations. They are the cheapest flower there is. And we know this.
Wow! I'm actually stumped since this is a first date. I'd just go with the bottle of wine and as soon as you sit down just explain to her what you think. That being, "I really wanted to bring you something but I couldn't think of anything since we're going to the club afterwards."
Or you could just get the flowers anyway and I'm sure the waitress could find a vase for you to use during dinner. I worked in a restaurant and we did that for people. Then after dinner just suggest bringing them out to the car and then go back in to the club. Hope this helps. I'll get back to you if I can think of anything. For a "first date" that is.
Reply:No, not on a first date. You'll come off as wimpy, trust me. After a few dates, its cool to give her a single rose.
Oh and dance club = dance with her, man!!
Reply:It's a nice gesture, but I don't think you should. I normally give one rose, but in that situation, I don't think you should bring anything. I've never given flowers on a first date and I've dated many, many women.
Some women have told me that they think it's unoriginal to get flowers on a first date. They say that it seems like the guy is trying hard to impress them.
My point is that lots of guys give flowers on a first date. Surprise her when she doesn't expect it. Don't do what everyone else does. I'm completely against the flowers for this date. Don't do it.
Reply:give her one red rose
Reply:Not knowing how old you are- it's hard to say. Youcould bring one single flower- she could just set it on the table and bring it to the club it you go there.
OR... leave the flowers til the day after and drop them off if things go well. I awoke one morning to find flowers on my car after a first date. So cool.
Reply:So corny!
Reply:girls love flowers! nice idea. But like they said.. might be a little tricky. BUT one thing.. you should pick her up! It would show her you're a true gentleman like it seems you are! and then the flower dilema would be solved =)
Reply:hi
i think you can give them oil painting from their photo means turn their photo in oil painting it will create nice impression on them.
Capture that special moment.turn it into a masterpiece that will last forever!
i suggest u to look at this site i think it will help u,
A great idea for a personal and unique gift is a handmade painting made from a photo that you send.
Check out this site: http://www.portrait2000.com
They have many samples here http://www.portrait2000.com/samples.htm
The prices are reasonable and the outcome is amazing.

What would you look for in a Wedding site?
I'm looking at putting together a website for wedding planning i my area. The big sites don't seem to have a lot of local resources.
Would you want verything in one place? gifts, flowers, dresses etc...
What would you look for in a Wedding site?
I would love to see a lot of customer feed back. I want to know which florist/venue/bridal shop to go to, but more importantly I want to know the ones to avoid. Also a rating of what has the best quality, and most affordable would be helpful.
Beyond that, it would be helpful to have an area for unique venues/center pieces/color suggestions.
I am planning my wedding now and am struggling to come up with a plan while staying in our budget.
Reply:keep it organized(decorations, tradtions, banquets) and make links for local places to help make the wedding special... oh and pic ROCK!
Reply:NOT a cemetary...
Reply:The main issue for me is the cost of the items --- that's it
Reply:yup everything in one place well organized pertaining to the area where you live that would help a bride out alot...
Reply:low cost stuff.........
Reply:I'm a Wedding Consultant in Canada. If you want to check out my website, you can. A lot of the information you are suggesting is in my 2 links pages and it's all local resources. If you have any other questions, e-mail me from the Contact page.

Ideas for Mother's Day/ College Grad gifts.?
Hello! My Mom just finished her last class for her master's degree, not to mention that its mother's day on sunday. I would really like to find something special for her this year but all i can think of is the usual trite gifts. Flowers an bath soaps and stuff. I dont have time to make anything or enough money for jewlrey. I was thinking about taking her out to a nice dinner, but i need something else, ya know?
Ideas for Mother's Day/ College Grad gifts.?
Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
This is a really beautiful poem too!
Women have strengths that amaze us.
They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up for injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without new shoes so their children can have them.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage. Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!
Women do more than just give birth.
They bring joy and hope.
They give compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

Flower Girl Gifts?
I have 6-7 girls in my wedding as flower girls in my wedding ranging from 2 1/2 - 6 years old. I also have 2 ring bearers, one boy (6) and one girl (6) and two girls who are playing "host" at the reception that are 12 and 9. I'm looking for gift ideas that are equal and fair, but fitting. I don't think I can get them all the same thing because of the interest range.
Are Toys R Us or Target gift cards a horrible idea??
Any ideas are appreciated
Flower Girl Gifts?
My daughter went to a shop that does monogramming.. She had them do baseball tees with ring bearer or flower girl on the front %26amp; their name on the back.. The girls were done in white with pink sleeves with pink writing %26amp; the boys were done in white with navy sleeves %26amp; writing.... The kids loved them.
To add something else... Here's an idea that we're doing for my youngest daughter's wedding.. We're setting up a table geared just for children... I have found some wedding pictures to color online %26amp; I'm printing them out to make coloring books. For the older kids, you can also find wedding word searches or make your own. It has been suggested to me to cover the table with a white sheet %26amp; let the kids write or color what they want. Then after the wedding, I can make a quilt of the kids drawings to give to the couple... This is a good way to occupy little ones while mom %26amp; dad enjoy the wedding..
Reply:I would get them something they can play with at the reception. Receptions can be tedious for kids, and their parents and you will be grateful if they have something to entertain themselves with. How about hand-held games (Leapfrog makes educational electronic games, also there are electronic versions of Battleship, Tetris, that kind of thing)? I've seen these at Target. Coloring books and crayons and stickers for the smaller ones?
Reply:Gift cards are the best..let them choose what they want as opposed to you giving them something they either have or will toss aside.
Reply:I love to give movie rental gift certificates as gifts. It works for all ages. The youngest ones might like a toy better because they do not understand the value of a gift card.
Reply:I'm getting my flower girl a bridal barbie - I think this idea is adorable!
Reply:I don't know what kind of budget you are working with, but my fiance and I are taking our flower girls and ring bearer to Build-A-Bear. It can be expensive, but kids love it.
Reply:Mayby for the little one's toys r'us to be honest i dont know. A giftcard from somewhere is the best idea.
Reply:Go to http://www.exclusivelyweddings.com/dynam...
I got my stuff there. I got the ring bearer ( who was 3) a train bank with his name engraved on the top. They also have footballs, soccar balls, tractors. All different kinds of "piggy" banks for kids and you can get their names engraved in them. I think the train was 15 bucks.
For the flowergirls, go to the same site, I got them the silver brush and mirror set with their initial engraved in the back of the mirror. Very classic, very pretty. For the older girls, you can get them a tote bag with their names or initial on them. Something they can use when they go spend the night at a friends house.
Reply:For the little ones, build-a-bear gift certificates and for the older ones, movie ticket gift certificates. That way, the gifts are age appropriate and the build a bear they can make to be anything they want. You could even pre-purchase little wedding dresses and tuxedos for the finished products.
Reply:My brother was a ring bearer in a wedding and he received a pillow with a fake ring on it. I thought it was a cute idea. This could be a gift for the ring bearers. For the hosts you could give them like a little stationary set. Also for the flower girls for the younger ones just pick out a cute toy and for the older ones a cute basket with some fake flowers in it. (But if you don't want to give actual gifts like I suggested I think that a gift card would also be a good idea) Hope this helps!
Reply:Wow! That's a LOT of kids! You don't think maybe you're over-doing it just a little? I mean, that's just my opinion. I'm not trying to offend you or anything, I promise! It's just that.... 6 or 7 flowergirls! OMG!
To answer your question, I'd suggest a giftcard to Target or Wal-Mart over Toys R Us. There's more of a selection when it comes to the "older" kids.
Good luck!
Reply:Gift cards for all the kids that are over 5 as for the rest ask their parents what they may want or need.
Reply:I know that my friend got all the girls in her wedding party (About 6, all under than age of 9) necklaces. She got the charms from Piercing Pagoda when they had a sale going on. I believe they were sliver disney pricess (Don't know which on) charm. They had only two boys, which they gave a watch to.
Reply:you can go die if you're getting married in a church.

Can I have flowers (or a gift set) delivered to a hotel room?
Yes, you can. You can even have a pizza and some hot wings delivered to most hotel rooms.

The better hotels can even help you arrange it by recommending an excellent local florist. Just ask the hotel for their concierge. This way you can be sure that you will be getting the best quality. Not that there is anything wrong with FTD and the likes, but you may not be able to select the best florist in the area of the many that may be available.
