Didn't think it was so much of a romantic day
Why is there a lot of people buying flowers, candy and other gifts for President's day,?
Lol, i think they are buying it for Valentines day some people actually consider it a holiday, i don't believe in those things because i feel like it's the business (retail, reataurants, floral shops, etc.) that benefit from it.
Showing love and appreciation should be a daily thing.
Reply:ok stupid there was a president named andrew johnson. he was the 17th president. Report It
Reply:they're not...they're getting them because they're half-off after valentine's day.

My girlfriend and I will be celebrating our 2 yr anniversary Nov. 30th and I want to buy her an over the top flower arrangement. Money is no problem...and she loves flowers, specially sunflowers...

Is it customary to send flowers as a gift to someone who is getting married?
This friend of mine is getting married, she invited me but I wont be able to make it. Would sending her a bouquet of flowers be recommended?
Is it customary to send flowers as a gift to someone who is getting married?
flowers is a nice gesture but I think she'd prefer better to receive something more practical and/or she could use in their new home as she is getting married.
I would suggest you just give her a gift certificate to a household stuff store (that sells bedsheets, pots and plates, etc) which she can use later and buy whatever they may still need (that the guests possibly didn't come up with for their gifts) or a dinner/spa voucher for two which she and her then husband can use to just simply get together for some quality time.
Reply:If you are a good friend then you should go. But since you cant make it send flowers with a lovely greeting card.
Njoy....
Reply:No its not customary to send flowers to someone getting married, it is far more customary to send a "sorry i can't make it" note and buy something from their wedding gift list, that is what its there for after all - to let you know what they need.
Reply:Naw, just let her go.
Reply:I say yes. Sending some kind of gift (even if it's just flowers) is a nice gesture to someone who's getting married.
Reply:I think it might be uncomfortable for her if flowers arrived on her wedding day. She will have already paid a florist for her bouquet, as well as decorative arrangements throughout.
Ideally, you would find out where she is registered, and purchase a gift from the registry. It does not need to arrive with you at the ceremony, but instead can be delivered to her home.
Reply:It's not the usual wedding gift but any gift is nice. I would send a card that says "congratulations on your wedding, sorry I can't make it" along with the flowers.
Reply:yes, put a lucky horseshoe (the gift ones from shop) on it 2 and a card wishing her all the best
Reply:Send something else with. Anything you know will be of use to her now that she is getting married. Well it depends on your income. Even a microwave oven isnt a bad idea.
Reply:While flowers and other gifts are always charming gestures, no matter what the occasion, the usual wedding gift is something for the new home, something like bath or kitchen linens, china, glassware, etc. Most couples also appreciate cash.
Reply:It sounds nice - but it's not a traditional gift and considering flowers die in a week, this is really not a helpful gift for a bride and groom. A gift card or money would be a lot nicer for them.
Reply:The tradition is to still send a gift that is either on their registry, money, or a gift card. While flowers are a nice gesture, they will be dead by the time the honeymoon is over.
If you want to send flowers, send a live one in it's own pot with proper decorations. That way she will have it longer to treasure.
http://ww1.1800flowers.com/productform.a...
Don't forget the card no matter what you chose to send.
Reply:No, it's not customary to send flowers. She will be ordering lots of her own flowers for the actual wedding. It would be silly to send more flowers on top of that. If you can't attend, it's not customary to send a gift. But if she's a good friend, send a little gift as a token of your friendship. It can be small and simple, and send it with a note telling her that you're unable to attend. Redenvelope.com has some great wedding gift ideas that are affordable. Either that, or send a small gift card from the store where she is registered along with your note.
Reply:absolutely not! You send either cash, cheque, money order, certified cheque, gift cards or you pick a gift from the wedding registry.
Reply:It would be a nice gesture. You could also send any other type of gift, something you normally would have brought to the wedding were you able to attend. It's the thought that counts after all. :)
Reply:No it is not customary to send flowers although it is a good gesture. I am newlywed of 6 months. I can tell you that all I wanted were things that were on my list, money or a gift certificate. I did not want to recieve anything that I could not use. With the money that you are opting for flowers you can get a cheap card and put the amount that you were gonna spend on the flowers in the card.

When you do stop buying your girlfriend flowers or gifts??
best or creative answer gets 10 points!! good luck!!
When you do stop buying your girlfriend flowers or gifts??
you don't buy gifts because you have to you buy them because you want to and want to show her some appreciation. I personally can't stand getting flowers. they die. I don't mind a plant as long as they come back every year. Remember you don't want to get into the habit of "buying" her love. it should be spontaneous. I enjoy gifts more when they come as a surprise and not expecting them.
Reply:You should never stop. Unless the person asks you to.
Reply:Seems like they stop buying flowers and gifts when they think they "have" you.
Reply:When you want to quit getting laid!
Reply:When she stopped being my girlfriend and became that four letter word----WIFE!
Reply:There should not be a question of when you stop.... if you stop spontaneously buying her flowers then the spark is gone. A woman always loves to get flowers even if you have been married for one year or fifty years... When there is no special occasion and you show up with flowers that just makes the woman feel appreciated. Never STOP that is the truth
Reply:When you no longer have any need for your testicles.
Reply:never
Reply:As long as you want her to be your girlfriend! For kiss of death, just miss her birthday or a special holiday!
Reply:A). Never
B). When you're dead.
C). When she doesn't like you anymore
Reply:when do you start?
Reply:When she is dead. I've been married to my girlfriend since 1980 and I always buy her flowers and gifts. Maybe that's why I've been married for 26 years.

Stop buying or giving gifts to my gf/wife?
I don't think so.
Reply:You don't. A girl always loves to get flowers or gifts of some kind. Even if you don't buy the flowers, pick them yourself. As for the gifts, make something with your own hands. We don't just appreciate the gifts that you spent money on...The ones that are filled with love and time are the best.
Reply:Last time to buy flowers is at her funeral
Reply:When I die, I guess. Can't really buy stuff anymore then :) Until then, I believe I have a right to spoil her.
Reply:NEVER NEVER NEVER. If you like her spoil her and treat her good. She may love you for ever.
Reply:Sadly, too extreemmmeeee (however he spells it) is absolutely right. I have gotten flowers a couple times since we've been married (two whole fat years) but nothing like i did when he was still "wooing."
Damn it I was ROBBED!!!!
Reply:If I catch my gf cheating on me, not only she won't get flowers or gifts nor will she get a "pony ride" on me.
Reply:Sorry, but when she's your EX girlfriend.
Reply:when she became my wife. Then I started buying flowers and gifts for my wife instead and I haven't stopped
Reply:YOU DONT START!
ONCE YOU START YOU SET A PRECEDENCE(SPELLING?)
Reply:do not start buying them so no need to stop
Reply:I think you're asking when you stop buying the gifts right? You don't stop.....gifts or flowers are a way a male can show his interest, emotion, sympathy, love, etc. for a women. If that stops it doesn't go to say that the feelings are gone, but come on....it's a way to show appreciation or concern, mostly forgiveness (LOL/JK fellas!) so when it stops...I'd assume the feelings did to. I receive gifts and flowers from my boyfriend, but only on occasions (Holidays, Birthdays....you know). I suppose it would be nice to get it just because...guess my guys not that clever!
Reply:NEVER. If you are buying the the gifts and flowers to woo her. Then you are being a fake. Be true, why make her think you are going to shower her forever, if it is just a ploy to attract her and then stop after you have achieved your goal? That is kind of sad.
Reply:you don't ever if he loves you, no reason needed and it should never be a chore its the gift of sharing love. Thank You
Reply:Never stop buying your loved one a little gift now and then, always remember her birthday and Valentines. Expensive gifts are not necessary but something with some thought behind it. Don't always buy her flowers, buy her something with thought put into the gift, not just something easy for you to do.
Reply:AFTER I FIND A NEW ONE.
Reply:You don't stop buying her gifts. If you truly love her you will buy her something nice for her birthday, Valentines day, Christma, or when she is going through a rough time
Reply:never quit

What is a good website that sells flowers or gift baskets to be shipped to an overseas location? I'm looking to send my boyfriend something special (he's in Japan) but it's hard to find something. Any help?

How about FTD.com - They've been around since I was a little kid, and I'm 53 :-)

I sent him a engraved money clip with a little messaged saying how much I loved him on it. It was beyond excited and happy with the gift. Hello,
I have a very dear person to me in Italy and I want to send a Birthday present. The gift could be Flowers or anything nice.
So do you guys know any good web site I could use for that?
Good as good in service, price and variation of available gifts.
I hope you could help me!
Thanks in advance :)

My husband ordered from there and (not them) the shipping company didn't deliver my flowers when they were supposed to. They gave us a credit and re-delivered them even though it wasn't their fault. They had great customer service!

Men if your gf had more money than you would u still buy her gifts/flowers and take her out to diner or expect
her to go "dutch"?
Men if your gf had more money than you would u still buy her gifts/flowers and take her out to diner or expect
This is something you need to discuss with her. Let her know how you feel. Honesty is the best policy.
Personally, I would pick up the check here and there to help ease the burdon of one person always paying the bill. Before we were married, my now husband really enjoyed my picking up the tab once in a while. We both earn about the same amount of money, so it wasn't that one of us had more than the other, it was just courtesy, in my opinion.
Reply:Personally, while I have no problem treating him to dinner or a movie from time to time, I'm still tradtional. If you can't afford to take me out to dinner, the least you can do it cook something at home.
Reply:You should always make sure you treat her like a lady. She will pay for things when needed, but it shouldnt be expected.
Going "dutch" is just for friends- not people in dating relationships.
Reply:No doubt....that tells her that her money dont matter...so once its all good i can slow my spending down and she can cake me up like that true playa that i am. Got to plant them seeds in her head.
Reply:I earn more than my fiance just now, as he progresses through the levels at work and he will end up earning a lot more than me, he still buys me things, he pays for dinners out etc, but on the other hand I pay the bills and the council tax, he doesn't pay any bills except his half of the rent and his travel expenses to get to work, I think that works out fairly. We both contribute equally but in different areas. I also pay for my fair share of drinks if we go to the pub.
Reply:I would still buy her stuff but I would expect her to pick up the check a few times and pay for a few rounds. My girlfriend is in school and has no job so I buy everything and it gets very old spending over $100 for one night out on the town. I think there should be an agreement made for money.
Reply:Me and my bf have been dating for almost 2 years.. When we first starting dating he was the one with allthe money since i was stil going to school. After about a year of us dating, I graduated school and starting working. I was making more money then he was and I really didnt have any bills. Every once and a while I pay for stuff, even if its just a burger and fries at MCD's. Everything counts. But if its not like you are buying her flowers with ur rent money, I would still do it. Girls love to get things. You can always ask her to, believe me I would rather that my bf asked me before he did some of the things he did. good luck
